Bradley gets commitment from Bulgarian point guard Georgi Gerganov

Those are some big numbers against (other) grown men. Looks like we got our starting point guard, this dude looks great

Wow
Bradley is moving fast in this new-era free agent market.....

Georgi is just completing his season with Botev in the top Bulgarian League
His averages are: 25 games, plays 36.6 min per game, 21.1 ppg, 141-264 overall (53.4%FG%), 37-115 from 3pt (32.2%)
gets to the FT line a whole lot, 226 times (9 times per game- 60%), 5.6 rpg, 5.8 assists/game, 2.2 steals, 2:1 A/T Rate.
His team still has 3 more games left in their regular season (Apr 16, 19 & 25 then playoffs)

He leads their entire league in scoring at 21.2 ppg and in steals at 2.2/game and is 6th in the league with 5.8 assists/gm
Here's some highlights from a 34-point game he had this season - LINK

BTW- former Bradley Brave Danya Kingsby also plays in the same top Bulgarian League -

The Bulgaria NBL league playoffs consist of the top 8 teams. Georgi's team, Botev 2012, has clinched a playoff spot (see standings below). They are currently in 5th place, but with 3 games left, they could finish as high as 4th or a low as 7th. The top 8 teams will play in an 8-team bracket.

Georgi is not only his team's leading scorer, he leads the league in scoring and in steals.

This was posted earlier, but for anyone who hasn't seen it, here is an article from last fall with some background information about Georgi Germanov-

Georgi has played for the Bulgarian National Team in 2025 and previously played for the Bulgarian Under 18 National Team back in 2021.
He also represented Bulgaria at the Fiba Under 20 European Championship Division B in Skopje (North Macedonia) three years ago.

His stats are actually superior to the European league stats of Kasparas Jakucionis, who came over two years ago to play for Illinois and jumped straight to the NBA logging 20 min per game with the Miami Heat this year after just one season with the Illini.

If he finishes strong and leads the league in two major stat categories (ppg & steals) and also averages 6 assists
he could well end up being their league's MVP!!

To be fair, the Bulgarian pro league is not on the same level as the Lithuanian or Spanish pro leagues where Jakucionis played.

We likely were able to pay him more to come here than he could make to stay there. That's how the Illini managed to get all of their Baltic studs.

If he's good, it doesn't matter cause a Power 5 conference will lure him away with bigger $ after 1 year.
Yep...this
Let's hope he gives a little scoring punch and has an A-T ratio of 2:1 or better. Solid but not fantastic.
That's a strange thing to hope for, but this is where we are now with mid-major hoops.
