Zeke Schneider......

Big Mike

Active member
from Metamora HS was in attendance tonight! He is a 6'9 junior who they think could reach 6'11! Along with his father......his little brother was also ion attendance....his name is Colt and he is a 6'5 freshman at Metamora!

Last night Zeke had 17 pts and 10 rbs for Meatamore HS in a game against Washington HS....Washington won 69-53 with a game high from Dyricus Simms-Edwards of 23 pts and a team high 7 rbs! For the iu fans mr had 18 pts.

I've seen Schneider play a couple times this year and he hasn't impressed me that much. I just don't see him being a very good Div. I player, but he could be a solid big who comes off the bench in a limited role. Reminds me of Sam Singh.

Zeke is still learning his height.. His legs definitely need work, as his upper body is way ahead of his legs- which are a bit spindly.. But he is only a junior I believe, so we will see what another year brings....

I agree that a jr. in high school growing a couple of inches a year is way too hard to get a college read on wether he is D1 or not.....give Zeke a little time to adjust to his body....they say his knees hurt all the time from the growing spurts!

Coach Brooks was at the Metamora-Dunlap gam,e on Tuesday night- probably watching Zeke a bit...

Metamora has a sophomore who may start getting some looks soon as well- a 6'4 off guard by the name of JD Kamm. He had 21 points- good looking stroke from outside- hit 5 three pointers...

Needs to work on handling ball though if he wants to get D-I...

Please don"t compare him to Sam Singh as Sam helped his team win a state championship and is a lot better player then some people think; most players would not have made it back to playing if they had suffered thru all the injuries that Sam has gone thru .

I know Jim, and he's coached some youth basketball teams in the Chilli area for years, and I also know him since he's recently been in an affiliated profession that I work with.
This is a great opportunity for him, and I hope he does a great job at Metamora.
He is a 1982 grad of Chilli (IVC), and was part of their great team that made it all the way to the 1981 Class AA (big school) supersectionals and lost to Moline,
and Youngman scored 8 points in that game.
(in that game, Craig Parr had 32 and the team finished 24-6)
