Which recruits are still out there for 2007?

Here is the 2007 class so far:

Sam Maniscalco, 6'0 PG FR
Will Egolf, 6'9 PF FR
Anthony Thompson, 6'10 PF/C FR
Jeremy Fears, 6'4 PG/SG (Transfer) JR
DeAaron Williams, 6'6 SF (JUCO) JR

With Ellis off the board, where does BU go from here with the last scholly for 2007? A SG or SF would be nice, like Demetrius Young or James Haarsma. Any new news on Leon Powell?

We need another impact big man. We already have more than enough guards/small forwards with Fears, Williams, Crouch, Brown, and Warren. The last scholarship will go to a frontcourt player, likely an immediate-impact JUCO big.

That's makes sense (juco big man). But we don't know what other recruits they are still looking at. Maybe they will sign another good high schooler.

like zach?

Another Zach Andrews would help. Zach is not realy a center/post type player, but more of a PF. Ideally they could use a true post player.

Don't forget we don't have a pure shooter on the team so we might have go after one. That is why they might wait on signing someone early to see what we really need.

I think that notion will be disspelled when JC regains his touch this year. Andrew Warren is supposed to be quite a shooter, although I haven't seen too much of him to be able to say. Sam Maniscalco is about as pure of a shooter as you can get from the PG position, so he'll be in the mix next year. I do agree that you can never have enough good shooters, but I think this scholarship should address our biggest need, which IMO is a surefire impact big man. We only have 1 year of Ruffin, Fears, and Williams together, so we need to take advantage of it as much as we can.

I am hoping for a Junior College big man considering we will have a solid team next year with Fears and Williams coming in. We need to take advantage of the next couple of years and make some noise. We have a couple young big guys coming in next year and I would assume we will see Crawford back at BU in two years? Does anyone know if Ruffin is in line to get his 5th year of eligibility? Lets hope so....

JC biggest problem right now is his defense not his shooting.Until he learns how to play defense he don't have to worry about playing time.

Coach Les has said that JC was by far the most improved player over the summer, so I wouldn't be so sure about those 'not worrying about playing time' comments just yet.

All I am saying is if his defense is good this year he will see a lot of playing time if it is bad he won't see much time just like last year.

Agreed, to an extent. If he's a dead-eyed shooter like he was his freshman year, he'll get more leeway on defense. Hopefully, he has both components working for him this year.
