Marlon Stewart says he is done looking and taking visits, and will decide tomorrow -
it has been cited that his four offers are Bradley, Creighton, Florida Gulf Coast, and Northern Illinois.

I hope he considers that at Bradley, he'd have a chance to play right away and possibly start and then by his 2nd year -
there won't be a single guard ahead of him in the food chain - the team could be all his!

At Creighton - he'll be in a logjam and get recruited over -

He's a good player and could be a star in the MVC as well as get to play multiple times each year in his home state
and in driving range for his family to see - that might never happen in the Big East!

Creighton has one point guard on the roster next year. Lots of minutes possible. Just sayin.

Good luck in taking the Shux down a few notches this year!!

Marlon Stewart tweeted last night that he was headed for the gym for a workout...after the kind of whirlwind weekend the kid had!
wow, this is the kind of work ethic I want -

I have a good feeling as we are the closest school so his family can follow him and from what I hear, he knows he is the priority for us and has a real shot at instant PT.
...but there's always the lure of the brighter lights....so I am not convinced yet....
Creighton is known to have a few other offers out there - so it is possible that his offer from Creighton is tied to him waiting a little while 'til the commit situation clears up..
note that Creighton has at least FIVE point guards who have been offered for 2015 - and ELEVEN guards overall! - LINK
Many of those other guys have also visited and appear to be even higher priority and they are waiting for the situation to clear a little - and I am sure Stewart is smart enough to know that.

BTW - He also has offers from Chicago State & Green Bay but appears to have eliminated them, as well as Toledo, FIU & Northern Colo.
He got his first offer from Chicago State over a year ago so I guess that shows the value of simply being "first to offer" is limited...

...just hope if we get Marlon Stewart that it doesn't cost us on Gavin Block - Block has to also be a priority and we will have open rides in the spring.

really slow day......hoping to hear good news soon.....I'd feel better if Stewart had ties to the Mac Irvin program -
...hope we have good connections with the DRose program!

he is arguably the best pg among those left on the board and that we've been recruiting -
but there's strong competition for pg's as most coaches, in order to have proper depth at important positions - love to have 2 or 3 on their roster -
but hard to compete with a Top 40 program....

Not meant to be negative but if McDermott is still competing with the Valley for recruits to play in the Big East Creighton is not going to fare well in the immediate future. Now I guess.........who really gives a $hit about Creighton but hate to see them steal a Valley recruit.

They have gotten where they are largely because they have done well with mid-major-caliber kids -- and depth at PG will pay off....
There will somewhat of a true test this year for the first time in 4-5 years - to see how good of a coach GM is when he doesn't have a national POY on his roster..

Don't need a POY to be a good coach. Wish BU had his success the last few years with or without a POY.

Whether Greg McDermott is or isn't a good coach - is purely subjecting and I will let you decide...
Personally, I think he is a good coach and Creighton is lucky to have him - I also think he is a far better coach now than early in his career,
but...if you just want facts, Greg McDermott's record over the prior four years that he didn't have Doug McDermott was 59-68 and only 18-46 in conference play -
(just for reference - Bradley's conference record the past four years that have been the worst 4-year stretch in Bradley's history wasn't much different - 20-52)
also, while he was coaching in the MVC he never won a post-season game.
