Tim Finke signs with Grand Canyon University

He may be making a good decision and picking the right level...
We've seen way too many Cully Paynes, Devan Bawinkels, and even Jereme Richmonds aim way too high...
His brother was expected to be a star at Illinois, but now in his 4th year there, he's still a role player with 492 career points...
Yajusneverno -- He also could have been a key player, Steve Kuberski/Seth Tuttle- type player in the MVC

Good point, Tornado. Kevin Bontemps also cones to mind. Played at University of Illinois out of Morton High School on full ride, but would have gotten far more minutes had he played elsewhere.

Michael Finke was a 3 star....don't think he was supposed to be a star.

How did Jereme Richmond aim too high...he averaged 7 and 5 on a tournament team and showed flashes of greatness.

he was nowhere near as good as he was pegged to be..and sadly Jereme himself believed the hype and declared for the NBA Draft when obviously he should have found a way to stay in school or transfer to another college
...but if you want to void him, I can give you hundreds of other examples of kids who aimed way too high (Geno had a whole roster full of them) and would have been good MVC players or maybe OVC players- but wasted years on the end of the bench at a bigger school. Not denying they still got an education and maybe they enjoyed their time. Some finally figure it out and "transfer down" and then do well.
