Just a few of interest..

Southeastern Illinois College 93 - Brehm Prep (high school) 73
Lon Morris 83 - Weatherford 71 (Beas Hamga plays for Weatherford, but he was NOT mentioned in the scoring, as does Kevin Durant's brother)
Frank Phillips 92 - Redlands CC 75 (Manual Cass plays for Phillips and he had 8 pts, 5 rebs, 1 asst)
Southwestern Illinois College 66 - St. Louis CC-Meremac 62 (Torres Roundtree, Kenny Leverette, Corbin Thomas, and Isiah Nunn play for SWIC)
Vincennes 96 - Olney 87
Wallace State 65 - Mortheast Mississippi CC 60 (Mitchell Anderson, Jr. plays for Wallace)

(stats & scores are not avail. for many games yet..)

Hey-- here's an interesting point....
Beas Hamga was ruled ineligible to play D-I for an entire year at UNLV because of his professional teams overseas...

BUT----he did get cleared to play at Weatheford CC in Texas....seems the NJCAA is not exactly consistent, here!

oddly....Beas was first recruited to Iowa by Steve Alford then went to UNLV later when Alford left Iowa..
now look who's recruiting the kid....
It's Steve Alford again...........Hamga, now a sophomore at Weatherford CC, visited UNM along with a couple of his juco teammates, and here he is pictured during his visit at UNM...
note that he has a cast on his arm...so he probably is not playing at WCC

anyone interested in some juco scores??

Cape Fear Community College 86 - Wake Technical Community College 80
(Cephas Oglesby had 16 pts, on 6-12 and was 2-3 from 3-pt range, he also had 4 rebounds, 2 assists, a steal and 3 blocks.)

College of Eastern Utah 77 - Western Nebraska CC 61
(Michael Glover - the ex-Boys to Men player who sued the NCAA to play at Seton Hall but lost was 8-19 and had 17 pts.)

Highland CC 74 - Lake Land 68
For HCC D'Mitri Riggs 10 pts, but just 3-11 and 2-6 from 3-pt range, also 2 rebs, 6 asst, 2 steals
For Lake Land Paris Carter had 10 points

Vincennes 96 - Olney 87 - for VU Champaign's Don Stewart 9-12, 22 pt.

Indiana Hills 91 - Carl Sandburg 51

Tallahassee CC 104 - Middle Georgia 96 - Marvell Waithe 30 pts, on just 6-11 but 15-16 from FT line! also 6 rebs & 1 blk

Midland 72 - Yavapai 66 (Coach ABIII's old school, and Ty Nurse, ex-Decatur Christian PG is at Midland.)
http://www.midland.edu/athletics/basketball-men/bios/tynurse.php

Kaskaskia 91 - Parkland 68

Lincoln 79 - Rend Lake 76 Kenyon Smith 20, DeMarius Sumrell 16,
Lincoln led this one 65-41 shortly into 2nd half and almost ended up blowing it. Lincoln plays Kirkwood tonight.

Lincoln beat Rend Lake 79-76 (Kenyon Smith had 22 points on 5 three pointers)

well, then I guess I am really puzzled...somebody's just not reporting the proper stats...Lincoln must be hiring some stat guys from Peoria...
because he has now played in at least two games, and the official NJCAA web site says Kenyon Smith's
scoring average after two games is 9.5 ppg!

So if he scored 22 in his first game, then the only way he could end up with a 2-game average of 9.5
would be if he scored -3 points (negative three points) in his second game.
Maybe that means he didn't score for his own team but mistakenly launched and MADE a three-pointer for the other team??
His other averages are said to be 3.5 rpg, 2.0 assists, SIX TURNOVERS PER GAME!!!!!http://njcaa.org/colleges_college_s...legeid=1578&report_id=3149&requesttimeout=500
http://njcaa.org/colleges_college_stats.cfm?sid=5&collegeid=1578&slid=2&category=Stats

When you check the greater detail on the NJCAA web site, it actually seems to say something quite a bit different.
It says in Kenyon's first game he was only 2-11 from the floor and 0-5 from 3-pt range, getting just 9 pts & 3 asst.
In his 2nd game he was 1-3 from long range and had zero assists...(and a truckload of turnovers??)
http://njcaa.org/colleges_college_p...y=Roster&slid=2&teamid=91682&athleteid=283499

so he's consistently hitting double digits...
20 points in one game, then 11 turnovers in the next

BTW-- anyone know why Evansville transfer Keylon Williams is NOT playing with Kirkwood...
he has not appeared in their first couple box scores?

Tornado, thank you for your interest in Kenyon Smith. :D

The NJCAA website doesn't have the stats from Lincoln's first game vs. Rend Lake.

Here they are: http://www.lincolncollege.edu/athletics/bballm/stats09/RendLake11409.htm

Smith's games to date are 20, 11 and 8. His last game was against a JV team (Hannibal La-Grange), in which he only played 16 minutes, and Lincoln lead by 22 at half.

That comes out to a 13 points per game average.

He does average 4.7 turnovers. But outside the Kirkwood game, he has been steady.

Not sure about Kaylon Williams and Kirkwood.

thanks for the immediate clarification, you sure must watch this board closely for any opportunity to help out, and we certainly appreciate the timeless devotion... ;)

Given that D-II juco rarely ever sends a player to D-I and almost never to the upper echelon of D-I, then surely Kenyon should have his way with those easy opponents this season, racking up impressive stats...

I see they get a chance to face Southeastern, so Kenyon should score 20 on a non-D-I kid like Paris Gulley...

Timeless devotion......coming from you.....I am tearing up.

Someone has to keep you on your toes. I think your slipping some in your old age man. Hope you can bring your 'A' game once the season starts. :D I am of course kidding about the slipping thing T. Your as sharp as ever.

Well he sat out all of last season, so not overly concerned about his impressive stats. I can keep you updated if you want, but something tells me you don't need me to do that. Not with your timeless devotion

I don't know man. 20 points out of your point guard on a nightly basis....He's not Dillard. ;)

If you go see that game, let me know what you think.

(Cephas Oglesby had 16 pts, on 6-12 and was 2-3 from 3-pt range, he also had 4 rebounds, 2 assists, a steal and 3 blocks.)....
Cephas has made his college decision...Towson...check the post in the Recruiting Forum

SICC beats Black Hawk 82-61 to go to 4-0, Paris Gulley had 7 and was 1-2 from 3-pt, Jontell Lindsay (Richwoods) was 6-12 and had 12 pts.
ICC lost to IVCC 82-79

Here's an interesting score from last night..

John A. Logan (5-1) junior college knocked off #4 ranked (nationally) Three Rivers (4-1) 79-56.
Logan has a kid named Lazeric Jones, who is claimed to have an offer from UCLA!! He is a 6-2 PG and his stats are as follows..
10.4 ppg, 5 apg, 25% on 3-pointers, 2 TO...
Last night he had 19 pts, 4 asst.

Logan outshot, outscored, outrebounded, and out played TRCC, despite Three Rivers' HUGE front line that includes 7-footer Ehimen Orupke that is headed to Wichita State. TRCC also has an All American candidate, 6-4 SG Marquis Carter who was held to only 9 pts, bringing his average down now to 22.5 ppg. (9 pts, 1 reb, 0 asst, 4 TO)
Orupke had 3 pts, 6 rebs, 5 fouls...bringing his averages to 5.4 ppg, 6.2 rpg, 4.2 fouls per game - and 42% from floor & 52% from FT line.
TRCC was 0-9 from 3-pt!

SG Marquis Carter is reported to also have an offer from Wichita State, as well as Missouri State and other MVC schools.
