Signing Period Ends Tonight at Midnight

Neither one has signed anywhere, I don't believe. But then there are a lot of pretty good prospects that still haven't signed.

I wouldn't be surprised if Bradley fills their vacant scholarship with someone, soon. I don't believe Jim Les has ever banked a scholarship in any previous year.

Didn't we only have 12 scholarship players last year?

I think that's right, because Jeremy Fears left at the end of the summer, too late to re-use the scholarship.

Is there a chance Hawkins will walk on? I know he has the grades so why would he not have signed a LOI if he was going some place else? It would be nice to have him on the team? Wishful thinking?????

Am I wrong here, or wasn't Hawkins interested in USC? Could the recent developments there with Mayo caused some rethinking in the Hawkins household? I'm surprised he hasn't committed somewhere by now.

I am not clear on how this process works. So, if we were to fill our vacant scholarship next week there would be no letter of intent? Does that mean that no offer made after tonight would be binding? Does it mean that schools can't recruit for 2008-2009 after midnight?

Recruiting can continue all the way until next year's class enrolls. There are a couple recruiting "dead periods" over the summer, but the only thing that changes after today is that Letters of Intent no longer are applicable.

If a recruit commits after today, he would still sign a scholarship agreement with the school, and that is a contract of sorts that ties the kid to that school and assures him that the school will hold a scholarship for him. But there would be no LOI, so if he backed out, he would not need to be released by that school. Also, other schools could keep trying to recruit him away from Bradley if they really wanted him.
