man i love watching this guy play. i beginning to believe he going to be one our all-time greats before his career is over. where would you rank sammy. think he is better than coach les was a player?

How could anyone not like Sammy? Even the opposition fans on their teams' message board are almost unanimously complimentary of Sammy, and that was not always the case. He seemed to be more of an irritating player to them before this season, but now he has their repect.
I don't want to try too hard to compare Sammy to Jim Les when he played, but I think they are similar players in a lot of ways. Both were clutch players, who could score when they were needed to, but made every other player on their team better, and never stopped fighting. No doubt Sammy will be one of the all-time greats in BU history. I now think there is little doubt he will be 1st team All-MVC this season. And to think there were a lot of fans here who thought he shouldn't be starting this season.

I think he should win Valley player of the year, but should at least be on the MVC first team. I've liked Sammy a ton ever since he first came here. After JC left he became my favorite Brave. Sammy is a great kid, and I think if he is able to be healthy the whole year next year he will have an unbelievable year. Remember he is this great not being completely healthy the whole year.

To be fair SM was not healthy to start the season and a lot of people based their."that he should not start!" due to to is mobility issue. Now I believe we all say he is the man. His heir apparent though is DSE! I also want to say CR is playing a different level lately. I'm also appreciating what he is bringing to every game.

The last 10 min of the game sammy was playing on one leg. I still can't beleave some people on this board thought EM should be playing the point instead of Sam.

You are correct. He was slowed at the start of the season at times. I do not recall many calling for SM's head, but I am sure there were some.

First off, SM is without a doubt the mvp of the team. We go as he goes, plain and simple.

As for ranking him in the all time list of BU players.....I think he would be in the top 10 of point guards. But a overall top 10, I don't think he makes it.

Once again, I'll admit, at the beginning of the season...when it was clear that Sam was hurt and not playing anywhere near what he is capable...I wanted EM in. Even JL started EM in a game over SM! I still want EM in there to spell Sam. Last night was a clear example of why we need EM healthy and back. SM got hurt and JL took him out, turning over the reigns to DSE...went from up 10 to only up 4 and SM had to come right back in... not getting the chance to rest up or get any sort of treatment. DSE is ahead of what I thought he would be, but he is still not ready to run the offense for long periods of time....and honestly when you have a jr. (SM) and a soph. (EM) ahead of him he shouldn't have to be asked to do that.

yup, we've seen people saying Sammy should sit, Andrew should sit, TB should be gone....

kinda goes to show how far off base some of the opinions are on message boards...

BTW -- here's a question....
What do these great Bradley players all have in common...
Theron Wilson, Will Franklin, Dyricus Simms-Edwards, Jake Eastman, Jordan Prosser, Taylor Brown, Tony Bennett, etc...?

They were all surprise, late signings, that virtually nobody expected (except a few "insiders") until they signed in the spring...
and many were guys nobody on this board had ever heard of or knew about until they signed in the spring with BU.
So....why are people working themselves into a frenzy in February because we don't have people already signed in April???
I say stop worrying, it's virtually guaranteed to help you live longer!!

Yeah, I don't get people who want their team to be the best it can be. I mean there might be a guy on the bench who can step in and give us some energy and make a play and help his TEAMMATES out! Who wants that? It is about TEAM not individual stats or anything else....TEAM.

I agree people should be allowed to express their civil opinions, even if they are ridiculous....but when they ARE ridiculous, then those opinions are fair game for rebuttal...

Yep...this board is littered with people offering their "ridiculous" opinions (i.e., Eddren McCain is a better player than Kevin Dillard, Will Egolf will be better than Randal Falker, etc.)

Good for some comic relief, if nothing else...;-)

Sammy elevating his game the 2nd half of this year kind of reminds of JC elevating his the 2nd half of his senior year. JC did some things towards the end that just made you say 'wow'; Sammy has as well. I wish we could run a few more set plays (especially in the waning minutes of close games) to get Sammy looks as opposed to him having to dribble, spin, dribble, spin, and do something difficult.

Maniscalco was brilliant last night...19 points, 10 assists, 0 turnovers is an awesome line. Hopefully the injury that hobbled him for the last part of the second half isn't something that is going to limit him too much over the next couple of weeks....because we are sunk without him.

To me, it would be criminal if Maniscalco doesn't make first team all-Valley...but we'll see.

Agree, IMO he is all-valley for sure, I think 1st team, but only time will tell!

Actually opinions can't be anything other then an opinion. They can't be correct or incorrect.

But I agree alot of people would agree with YOU that you here some crazy stuff....

So if someone said they THINK or they BELIEVE Sam should sit it is simply ONE persons thoughts.

Something to think about....SAM was not playing well early (undeniable) and BU was losing. Sam is playing well and BU is playing a little better.

So while I agree you don't sit Sam becuase he was not playing well ,becuase it was most likley due to injury, it wasn't THAT crazy of a thought.

Don't forget the little guard (TCS) that would be all conference based on one 30 point preseason game against St Mary's school for the blind. How did THAT "ridiculous" opinion end up.

T - cant have it both ways. cant make fun of others opinion but not be accountable for yours. a broken clock is right twice a day.

say what???
this is what I just said...

how is that asking for anything "both ways"??
