Well, we're approximately 1/3rd of the way through the season...we've seen the good, bad and ugly in the Valley. My opinion is that most pre-season predictions for the Valley still hold true. I may move Mo.State up a tick...but UNI still looks like the team to beat. Creighton may have dropped a bit. Bottom line is...BU can still win the Valley in my opinion. Other than UNI it's a crap-shoot. This can still be a special year in spite of our early season woes. Ever the optimist!
 
I agree! I must have woken up on the right side of the bed today, but after last night's frustration, I just feel so positive today! I think Bradley can and should finish in the top 2 in the Valley. I think they have the ability to finish first even as UNI is the only team I feel can really be a threat to us after that it is up for grabs. On the flip side if we come on with a lack on intensity like we have really since the Illini game, and just expect to show up and win some games, we could very well finish sixth or worse. One thing about college basketball is anybody can beat anybody on a given night, so you have to show up against everyone, even if you beat the Illini, you can't hang your hat on that or teams will punish you for it! I have a feeling we will rise out of this funk and start playing hard and winning games and have a good conference season!
 
In order to win the Valley we need a decent point guard, McCain and Maniscalco have gone backwards and the best one we had was DSE so it will be tough to finish in the top 4 without a quality point guard to direct this team.

As of right now, this team is looking at bottom 4 and the play-in.


Can you name 4 conference teams we're clearly better than right now?


As of this point I can name two: Evansville and Drake
 
I personally would like to see a different starting line up. SM was getting beat to the basket way to much last night. Not a good thing when your interior guys are soft. SM needs to come in as a backup 1 and or 2 IMHO. We need him but we need him as a scoring punch not a defensive liability. It may be just that his ankle is not healed but regardless......

I would also like to have had MK, AW and TB out there at the same time last night. MK was giving AW a lot of room to work because the other team had to try and stop him.

Also we need to use SS correctly. He is not a pick and roll guy. He's just not nimble enough. SS should come in and throw his weight around and perhaps foul guys hard when they dare head into the paint.

JL needs to re-adjust the his expectations from these guys and put them n roles where they can be successful. SM does not create his own shot and make it on a consistent basis. AW needs a little bit of room to operate which MK created. MK's best play was the faked 3 stepped in to hit the mid-range deuce.

WE needs to stop taking fadeaways from the key. AT needs to finish stronger and go for dunks. 6'10"????

Great points there as always....


Seems to me you have noticed the same reoccuring problems that I have about our PG spot.


Like I said, I nominate Chris for that spot as he doesn't turn the ball over and he's the best passer on the team.

Besides, our guards bring the ball up and usually call a play and hand it off and eventually get it right back.

Plus Chris drives the ball better than anyone on the team and needs to shoot more FT.
 
St Louis the difference is I believe EM is capable of being that guy! Again I just watched the 1st half last night but I thought EM played great. I have no idea why SM was not pulled out and AW slotted into the 2, MK to the 3 and TB stays at the 4!
