Remy asks for release

Moving on, let's get the next guy on the list! Still have to believe BU would have been a great choice for him but I'm sure there are a few scavengers out there in his ears.

Again let's not fool ourselves to say this is not a big deal and it should not be a shock to anyone. Is the world coming to an end? NO! but that makes it 3 quality players not suiting up for BU next year and any replacement most likely will not be able to fill those shoes completely or at least I'd be surprised. The question is how long does this set us back. I hope Coach Ford is a better coach then most, has a few recruiting surprises up his sleeve for this year and can make it up the following year.

I also believe the Harris release is a bigger set back for next year then the RA release. I for one do not believe his time away from bball would have effected him at rebounding and that may be our biggest weakness going into next season followed by 3 point shooting.

I think a quality coach (which I believe Coach Ford will be) is more important that any player(s) we lost.

Changing coaches always leads to player changes as well. Just look at BU's own history. This was expected. I still believe in the long run, this move will greatly improve Bradley basketball.

Well stated. Remy was probably going to find a way out eventually even if JL was still here. If Geno's teams can hold (and add onto) leads in the final two minutes consistently, this will have been an excellent offseason.

You can spin this any way you want today..

We wont know until we actually see his body of work.

Good luck to him.

Quit worrying about him.

I wish there was a good Point guard available right now.

This sounds like a rationalization. Remy asked out because Coach Les is gone, not in spite of that. There is no way he asks for a release under normal circumstances. That just doesn't happen very often.
Remy is an outstanding prospect. We will miss him.

We had Sam signed and here for year.....and he still left.

What's your point?

My point is that it's a bad sign when we have an enormous advantage over every program in the country (signed LOI, 2 coaches in his house), and could not keep him. I (like everyone else) wish our coaching staff could have landed this recruit. Best of luck to Remy.

Well perhaps he wanted to leave no matter who was in his living room. His stock rose and maybe that was too much to pass up.

Who knows?

It's in the rearview now

We'll see how Remy does. I hope he does well...sounds like his stock rose during the year and this was all he needed to move on.

Coach Ford handled it as well as he could have...time to move on

I agree with the majority of your post SFP, but I would have to say that we will be down 2 quality players. Harris is a bit of an unknown as I am sure he will have to adjust from 2 years away from any type of organized basketball.

Agree somewhat with the second half of your post, but IMHO, Geno is a bit of an unproven commodity that we overpaid for. I hope he works out here, but I will not have an opinion about him either way until I see him coach.

So we have a kid signed, have 2 coaches in his living room, and can't keep him? Very bad.

Completely disagree here... I don't blame anyone from the present coaching staff for not being able to get Remy to recommit to BU. The staff was basically fighting an uphill battle to get Remy here after JL was fired. The blame goes to the administration for this. The departure of Remy is something that should have been considered when deciding on a coaching change. The next 3-4 years should be very interesting......
