Ranking the MVC recruiting classes

I'm hopeful that Duke Deen is going to blossom into an important player for BU. Coach does a great job integrating small guards into his offense. Unfortunately it looks like the European pipeline has dried up.

I think we can take this article and analysis with a grain of salt, but good to learn about some of the newcomers in the Valley.
BU risin' up (in the Valley) in '22.

I think the newcomers Wardle has recruited will blend in really well with the guys returning. I think that was the objective when he recruited these players

I don’t think the people that write these articles even watch MVC games. I’m happy that they continually underestimate BU though. It helps to have a chip on our shoulder.

The author, Harry Schroeder, does a good job researching for his articles. And with this recruiting class ranking, I think he did about the best he could. But it is almost impossible to try to project how recruits will pan out once they actually get to the MVC. Many of the recruits he mentions are from lower level schools and jucos, which are very unpredictable, and usually are not major contributors. And most of the D1 transfers he mentions did not have impressive stats at their former schools. Unlike Tucker DeVries, most first year high school recruits usually are not big contributors. And at least one of incoming high school recruits mentioned (Will Lovings-Watts at Drake) did not qualify and won't be attending Drake.
So overall, I think his recruiting class rankings seem reasonable, but maybe not so much of a predictor of how the 2022-23 season will play out.
