Decent overall win, ugly first half, we shot incredible in the second half and played very good defense for the entire game.

Good win, but this one over there in a few weeks will not be this easy. On to Evansville and that one also will be difficult. But good win and keeps the ball rolling.

Nice W for the Braves on a must-win game IMO! Have to take care of the home court and they did! Nice break-out game by RA who know feels like part of the team! Some good passing and tight D tonight and holding INS to 44 pts will get you some W's!

Stats--

Bradley's shots weren't falling, but the defense stiffened, and they did what they needed to do to grind out a win.
Theron Wilson had 11 points, 6 rebounds.
Nice game by Rashad Austin-- 8 points, and 6 rebounds
Matt Salley played well, 4 points, 9 rebounds.
Sam Singh was solid in 5 minutes.
Bradley is getting more out of the big guys every game.

Attendance was 9,329.

I don’t have too much to say tonight as it was a blue collar workman like job by all the BU players. As stated in the postgame show nobody went off, it was just a well balanced effort. We never let InST even make a mini run in the second half.

Rashad Austin is really starting to make his presence felt. He’s cleaned up his moving screens for the most part and has great hands. Austin, Wilson, and Singh are really strong when they get their hands on the ball. I wish Salley was as strong. There was also one play where Matt should have dunked but didn’t and missed as a result. I think David Collins will get more minutes if he too would be stronger with the ball.

Another point raised in the postgame show was the defense on a ball reversal. I couldn’t agree more. We are covering for each other so much better on that play.

Hopefully we can steal another road victory with a road win in Evansville Saturday. The Valley standings are up for grabs concerning avoiding the Thursday tournament play in game.

Our inside game is really beginning to show signs. Great game by RA, MS, and SS.

Liked the final play/shot of the 1st half by AW.

Not worried about TW's ft's.

Daniel Ruffin is just toying with teams now. He made three or four "wow" plays tonight and made them look easy.

WOW, first time all season that Bradley has found a way to win when the 3's weren't falling. They clearly weren't falling in the first half and in the 2nd half, made big adjustments inside and it paid off. Nice to have Theron back, his burst to the hoop is huge, seemed like he was at the line every minute the last 10 minutes of the game. Just needs to make them FT's though. Shot 50% FT overall tonight, not going to get it done. Nice to see that we corrected the rebounding fault at the beginning of the game, ended up +8 overall. This team will be deadly if we continue this inside game to compliment the outside game. Also, can we get a dunk Salley LOL.

Great win. I'm glad JL made the adjustment and started pounding the ball inside which helped our spacing, got ISU into foul trouble and which hopefully will give our bigs the confidance needed to keep improving.

DR is making a huge difference in our inside game by his ability to drive in and dish on O and by hawking the ball on D it allows the other players pick off balls a lot easier. The only thing that I'd like to see us try would be to go inside right off the bat and then adjust from there. There's a better chance of the other team picking up some quick fouls which can make a huge difference by the end of the game.

What did y'all think of the officiating in this game? Personally, I think it was pro BU until it got to within 5 minutes left and then all the ticky tack stuff was called on us. There was several physical possessions under the hoop on ISU possessions that were being called on our end on ISU. I'm really shocked that the ISU coach didn't get a T, I know Les would of got one if some of that contact wasn't called on his end. Although, they didn't give Wilson the intentional foul after he was fouled on the easy breakaway at mid court.

Well i'm glad for the win...maybe it's me but but I though INst played terrible for the most part. yes we played decent defense but it seemed like there was several times when they just didn't shoot when there was daylight or didn't make the pass when ther teamates were open.
Watching INst play made me wonder how they won 5 games in the Valley

SFPete, glad to hear your comment about spacing. I had to work so I missed the game. No intention to belittle your point at all, but I mentioned this same point about spacing after the Wichita State game. As you said, adjustments have clearly been made. It's nice to see the results of a developing inside presence on our offensive schemes.

Way to go RA!!! I knew you would come around!;)

Some additional points I thought noteworthy. BU did a really nice defensive job on Marico Stinson. A Dub started out on him and I thought Stinson might turn it around when fouled on his 3 point attempt. Stinson made all three freebies, but that was his highlight finishing with only ten points on 3 of 14 shooting including 1 of 7 from beyond the arc.

The refs finally made an offensive call on the ball handler pushing off with his off arm. I’ve complained about this before. The only problem this time, the only reason it was called was the forearm came off the defensive man’s chest up into his chin.

In the postgame show the crew chided Austin for being quiet as Rashad answered questions with only two or three words. It was all in fun as they said more interviews would take care of it. Austin seems very well spoken, albeit quiet, and quite a nice young man. I had spoken to him at the soccer match tailgate party.

Now Sam Singh is a different interview. They had just finished praising JC for his assists, but Sam said no. JC is selfish and never passes off. Of course this was all in fun. Sam has a great sense of humor and a great attitude in general especially with all he has gone through. He’ll do well in life after basketball.

SS & JC was possibly the best post game interview that Snell & Coach have ever had. They are both articulate and know the game so well but at the same time they can really dish it out. They needed AW to complete a trifecta
