Partial ISU Schedule Revealed

Don't forget that big tournament with St. Bonaventure, Norfolk State, and SE Missouri State.

Seriously? That's quite a lineup for a home tournament.
Using last year's RPIs:
St, Bonaventure- 201
Norfolk State- 290
SEMO- 339

That is significantly worse than last year's World Vision Invitational that featured:
Nicholls State (159)
Winston-Salem State (331) and
UC Santa Barbara (177)

Don't they realize that this kind of scheduling is the single main reason they were relegated to the NIT the last 2 years?

IIRC, it is both their coaches and AD's stance to not do 2 for 1's or 1 and none with any BCS schools... makes it alot tougher to get any potential "name" opponents.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

ISU has won a bunch of games with a below average schedule for sure--but I have to credit them, that at least they BEAT the cupcakes--after we choked last year to Platteville and UMKC:eek:

I read their press release over at Birdville, and it proclaims the following:

"In each of the past 2 seasons, only 10 NCAA D-I schools have posted at least 24 wins in both men's & women's basketball: U-Conn, Duke, Gonzaga, Louisville, North Carolina, VCU, Xavier, Texas A&M, Pittsburg, and ILLINOIS STATE.

ISU has finished 1-2 or 3 in the Valley All Sports Trophy standings 17 of the past 19 seasons (2nd last year)

Since joining the Missouri Valley Conference, ISU has won 133 league titles--more than ANY other league school during that period.

Toughen up your schedule, and I might be more impressed:roll:

Please, not the Platteville reference again.

We did not play Platteville in an official game last year. It does not appear on our schedule.

And it does not appear in our won-loss record. It was an exhibition game. It didn't count any more than the scrimmages in practice do.

--and when was the last time ISU was in the NCAA Tournament under Coach Jank????:-o:-P:eek::-P

Les has went to 1 NCAA tourney in 7 years at BU... and 1 NIT

Jank has went to 0 NCAA tourney's in 2 years ISU... and 2 NIT's

He has plenty of time to catch up and overtake  in the NCAA tourney catagory...

If he keeps scheduling like he has since his arrival at ISU he will NEVER make an NCAA tourney without winning the MVC tourney. Jank will NEVER get an atlarge with the garbage he insists on playing.

It is embarassing that ISU simply refuses to challenge themselves and they are, lately, consistantly dragging down the conference with their inferior scheduling.

I seriously doubt Jank will be coaching at isu five more years.
