Malik Thomas is the most talented player on University of San Francisco. He averaged 20 ppg, but when we played them in Peoria
back in December, we beat them largely by holding Thomas in check - allowing him 14 points.
The previous game, San Francisco played at Loyola & Thomas went for 35 points in a double digit win in Chicago.
Thomas is a senior and has played four years without injury or any other reason he would expect a redshirt. He just didn't play
much his first year. He played his freshman year at USC, and only appeared in 9 games. There was NO INJURY, he just was so deep in the
coach's rotation that he got very few minutes, altho he played all the way thru the season and even in the post-season.
There isn't a single criteria in the NCAA rules that should allow him to get a "redshirt" for that year and get to have an extra year
of eligibility, and yet- NCAA just granted him an extra year.
This could be a hopeful sign for Christian Davis.
Currently there are multiple lawsuits against NCAA by players requesting additional eligibility for various reasons, plus the
"Pavia lawsuit" still has not been decided despite the injunction-
