Let's pluck the birds

No doubt the game on Wednesday will be a challenge. Always seem to get their best effort against us. If we can beat Drake at their place and get good effort and execute, then we can do it. Let's have a good following of fans attend the game. Weather will not be an issue and most fans like myself are only 25 minutes away. I for one will be there and shout like crazy and try and cheer on our Braves to a win. Hoping to see a big crowd of Bradley fans there.

Pluck 'em but don't suck 'em! Huge game - if we win this one, I think the Braves go undefeated to finish the reg. season, which gives us a shot at the reg. season title. Our #1 goal is to win Arch Madness this season, though in my mind, winning the conf. 2 seasons ago was a bigger achievement than if we had won the conf. tourney since it had been soooooo long since we last won the conf. season.

Gotta get back to dancing this season - anything less is a disappointment.

Will be another tough game, and we will need to play as well as we just did in order to come out with the W again. I’ll be there to support our team and see what we got in the hopper! Hope Duke is ok… he gives his body up and takes some tough spills. Deserved POW award today!

From my vantage point it looked like Duke fell on his hip. Obviously had to sting. Hope he is not too sore afterwards now. Same goes for Cory Thomas. Hope it is just a minor sprain. Need all players to stay healthy heading to St t. Louis.

Corey has rolled that ankle up a few third this season. He always bounces back, but these things do limit you, even if it gets in your head more than the actual pain.

Need a good game from Meta in this one- he is our best answer to keep Chase Walker from a big game.

Absolutely. Walker is a smart player and moves well for a big guy. He knows how to keep his pivot foot planted and spin right or left to get an open layup. His weakness is that he doesn't jump much, so if Meta or the other Bradley bigs can be physical, anticipate his moves and shift quickly, he can be defended effectively. Bradley did a great job defending him in the game in Peoria on Jan. 25. He had only 5 points on 2-8 shooting. That 5 points was his lowest offensive output of the season.
Meta played 23 minutes in that game, the most minutes he has played all season. He ended with 4 points, and a game-high 9 rebounds, along with his terrific defense against Chase Walker. He was named the Ameren Player of the Game that night, the only POG he's gotten this season.
So if he can stay out of foul trouble, he and Bradley are capable of neutralizing Walker. Go Braves!

From the Jan. 25 game- Bradley 61 Illinois State 57-

Need to contain Kinzinger and Walker to 25 and guard the other 3 point shooters so they do not have wide open shots. We have to do a lot better attacking their matchup zone.
