I know y’all love your Jimmy Les. There’s a Netflix series called Last Chance U chronicling the East Los Angeles Community College basketball team. It’s a great series and later in the series Les makes a brief appearance recruiting one of the centers for ELAC.

Interesting. Thanks for posting. I looked into "Last Chance U", and the original version was a Netflix series that ran for 5 seasons from 2016-2020 and focused on junior college football programs in Mississippi, Kansas, and Oakland, CA. Each season contained between 9-12 episodes. The 2020 season was the final season.

But a new version of it debuted this month (March 10, 2021), titled "Last Chance U: Basketball"

"Last Chance U: Basketball" has 8 episodes and each episode is 50-60 minutes long. The viewer reviews posted on the IMDB website are all very positive.

Fyrebyrd, if you know which episode had Jim Les in it, let us know. Maybe he is in more than 1 episode? I will try to watch the series.

Thanks, Fyrebyrd.
Of the 8 episodes, Jim Les only appears briefly in Episode #5. This series follows the East Los Angeles Community College team, players, and coaches during the 2019-20 season. It's very well done and follows the team as the coach molds a group of misfits into one of the best junior college teams in California, and helps get many of his kids to 4-year colleges.
Coach Les is shown making his case for UC-Davis and their beautiful campus and the good academics to the 6'9" center on the East LA CC team, Malik Muhammed (at the 55:30 mark of episode 5).
Episode 5 took place around January and February, 2020, in the regular season and just before their state playoffs.
For the record, Malik Muhammed ended up committing to Central Michigan, where as a junior, he was a part-time starter and averaged 5.5ppg and 5.8 rpg.
