It was inevitable: NIL Greed reaches a breaking point

This whole thing was a complete mess from the start. I look for things to get a whole lot worse because how do you determine how much money to give each player on your roster? I say if everyone gets an equal amount like 10,000 things would have been a lot better.

Technically, can a coach offer NIL money? If he did and they believed him I’d say that’s their fault for not knowing how this whole mess works.

Bingo! The entire issue with the NIL is that the NCAA conned 3rd parties to pay kids to play for their universities. Greatest and smartest scam of all time.

I expect a day will soon come where a player sues coach/school for not allowing more playing time, more touches, and more shots arguing how the coach/school is prohibiting the player from maximizing NIL potential.

Coaches and Schools can not officially, however I am sure they talk with their school's NIL collective to get their players paid.

I don't think these players have much ground to stand on though based on that fact.

It's already happened a couple times at the high school level-

Here is another player suing his coach for "seven figures". This time the high school freshman sued his baseball coach because he shattered his ankle sliding into 3rd base. He blamed the coach who told him to slide. - https://nypost.com/2019/11/13/new-j...-coach-who-told-him-to-slide-into-third-base/

The case was dismissed by a New Jersey judge.

Amused at the last sardonic post.

actually, Mac, I am sure you remember, that Bradley had a kid, Tyrone Cole-Scott, who threatened to do just that claiming
"he was promised Will Franklin's playing time" and he & his dad got pi**ed when he was so unproductive that he got benched then quit the team.
(he then transferred to an obscure & completely unheard-of DII school called "Permian Basin" and quit the team there over lack of playing time)
