Doyle includes a blurb in his Ten for Tuesday column saying, "Iowa State interviewed Jeter before hiring Greg McDermott on Tuesday, according to the Des Moines Register."

When UW-M hired Jeter, they didn't want to lose him right away so they installed a $900,000 buyout requirement.
Iowa State simply didn't want to spend that much if they could get McDermott without a buyout.
