IHSA Boy's State Soccer tournament

I just noticed today Class 1A had "Peoria (P. Christian)" in it but the lost the two games to go to 4th place.

Also for Class 2A Peoria Notre Dame plays today at 11 a.m. against Freeport for the first game in the tournament.

Also the Triad (Troy my hometown) soccer team is also on there. This is the first time my alma matter has ever been to the state tournament for boy's soccer. I made varsity sophomore year and we went to super-sectionals, but that's the closest we've gotten. Wish 'em luck! I'm going to go up there today to watch the games.

Final PND wins 6-0
and Brad Lazzarri gets an assist! only his 2nd of the year!
Cicciarelli 2 goals, Gilfillan 2 goals, & 1 ea for Garcia & Whalen

PND is going to win it no doubt. They were excellent. The 2nd game to be honest I have no idea how Traid got in....must've been a really weak sectional this year because it was very ugly. The other team didn't look that great either though.

I'd be very surprised if PND didn't win because they were very sharp.

Early in the 1st half of the State Championship game, St. Viator's Billy Hamilton scores to put Notre Dame down 1-0.

Tough break for the Irish..but they bring home the 2nd place trophy to go with last year's 1st place

Do they have any good recruits coming in for next year?

Just about all of the present players on PND went to one of the Parochial schools that generally feed into Notre Dame.
There is actually one who didn't, but he never has gone to a public school anyway.

Oddly, the Richwoods soccer team has at least as many as Notre Dame, so do they recruit, too?
