I don’t think we’ve talked enough about “The Christian Davis Shot”

yoda

Well-known member
This shot-clock-buzzer-beater shot by Christian Davis is sorta right up there with the Deon Jackson MVC Tourney game winner, the Chris Roberts 75-footer buzzer-beater, and the Jim Les coast-to-coast game winner at the buzzer. (but just shy of the two Les-to-Hersey game winners in 1985-86.)
This cements CD as a legend in Bradley Basketball lore.

Watch it again

Edit- yeah, I need to add the Will Franklin half-court buzzer beater in 2006 just as the 1st half ended against Kansas.

Here’s the Will Franklin shot- scroll forward to 41:30 - Link

That is a good comparison, Yoda. That shot was crazy unbelievable, and who thought we would pull that game out when Darius went out? CD and CT really stepped up, but that 3 point MADE shot from CD with no time on the clock was absolutely insane!

I don't want to downplay that shot by CD, as it was INCREDIBLE and really gave us a boost when GM was coming on strong.
I wouldn't put it up there with those other 3 memorable shots as mentioned b/c of when they happened in the game, and were game-winning shots

It surely is a shot thought that will run through our heads when we reflect on CD and what a marvelous career he's had at Bradley.

Thinking of other great memories in recent seasons at the same level:
Will Franklin's halfcourt heave at the half vs Kansas in 2006, Tony Bennet's banker vs Pitt in 2006 to blow the game open to advance to Sweet 16, CR's follow-up (and go-ahead) dunk vs Creighton that led to a 20-pt win vs J's in 2010 Arch Madness.
