How much revenue does the B10 really make

Sorry for the long article but so much has been posted about these mega conf. so wanted to pass along an article I just found on the BTen Network & how much it generates. Notice the biggest portionis again from football.
Now we can understand why they want to make up these super conf.

I did not read through the article yet, but the B10 has a tremendous power to 'tax' near everyone in a B10 state via their network. This is how geographic expansion makes a lot of money for them,despite increased costs. Since ND's area is already covered, not sure if they make much sense for the B10 anymore.

Have no proof but heard the big 10 would double their (ND) present revenue even if they (ND) gave up their present tv rights and if they could incorporate that pkg in w/ the pkg the B10 already has it would be a big win win for all involved-Mike and Mike were talking about that a couple of weeks ago and even Golic who is a big ND fan said it made sense but he didn't think at this time they would do it. Today he said it will only happen when ND gets backed into a corner if all of these changes really start to take place.

It sure looks that way! ND better watch out because historical success does not translate into today's world as much. Just look at the mess that Kansas is in now! Time has changed and ND right now has some leverage but I predict if they wait to long they may just have to capitulate.

One more state and the big 10 can refer to states. Obviously changing the big 8 to big12 did no good.

In the BTN's current pricing model, (high in-state rate, very low out of state rates) ND may not create much, but does provide more opportunities for out of state sports pack subscriptions. It does help the long term survival of the BTN.
