I don't have an extensive knowledge of this but I know Jermaine Morgan was part of a state championship at Whitney Young. Or did you just mean freshman coming straight off of a championship?

Edit:
I don't think Jermaine Morgan did win state after all. I rechecked, he graduated in 2012, they were runners up in the 2010-2011 season so he would have been on that team. Whitney Young won state in the 2008-2009 season when Jermaine would have been a freshman, but I do not know if he was a member of their varsity team then, I kind of doubt it.

correct=Jermaine was on the Whitney Young team that finished 2nd in 2010
As you state above-I do not think Jermaine was on the 2009 State Champs

I did not check to see how many Bradley players have been on the State Runnerups-off the top of my head I can think of Lamonia Barksdale of Peoria Spalding in '69....have to check to see if Joe Allen finished second the year that he teamed with Cazzie Russell at Carver before winning it all the next season(sans Cazzie)

EDIT: yes, Allen finished 2nd with teammate Cazzie in 1962.
and BU's Shellie McMillon finished 2nd with DuSable in '54(though they were robbed of the title)
