Former BU President Passes Away

Dr. Martin Abegg- known to many as Jerry, has passed away. A great guy and a good man who worked his way through the ranks to become BU president.

He left his mark on BU- and the Presidents since have certainly lacked his skill set.

God speed Jerry!
 
Sorry to hear.

Dr. Abegg was one of my Dad's engineering profs in the early 60's and was the President when I was in school.

His last order of business before retirement was speaking at my commencement in December of 1991.
 
Dr. Abegg's son, Martin (a BU Grad ) is a world renowned expert on middle eastern history and specifically the Dead Sea Scrolls
and he's speaking today at Lakeview...I have heard him speak before and I know the topic might seem "dry" to some -
but he's an excellent guy to hear and actually the topic is interesting and even relevant to some events happening today...
