ESPN Preseason Poll

I am like many of you and don't really care what the preseason polls say because frankly nobody has played so it doesn't mean anything. I thought I would post the link to this anyways since I saw it when I woke up this morning. The most surprising thing on this poll isn't that Butler is picked 10th, in fact it has nothing to do with anybody in the top 25, what I found surprising was that Southern Illinois received 3 votes while Northern Iowa received 1. I can understand Creighton receiving 7 votes because Creighton always seems to have a good team, but for SIU to get votes when many predict them to not be very good is surprising, at least to me.

Looking at the coaches who are voting this year I am assuming that the points can all be attributed to Gary Williams, who (knowing how strong the Valley is) put Creighton at 19, Southern at 23, and Northern at 25 on his ballot.
