This is a strange development:

From Bradley University: Junior college transfer Chudier Bile has asked for and been granted his release from the Bradley men??™s basketball team, announced on Monday. Bradley will have no further comments on Bile.

From WMBD Radio FB page.

Just now Tweeted by Chudier Bile - kind of terse, & certainly does not thank Bradley as is generally seen with transfers & departing players.

I have no information other than what has appeared in the press, but I wonder if some of the problem could be academic. Junior College transfers are usually in for a shock academically when they get to Bradley. I sat on the Academic Review Board for many years. To see a 1.00 drop in GPA from JC to Bradley was not uncommon. Students who were 2.8 GPA at a JC could easily drop below a 2.00 at BU.

I am hearing it was not academics. Usually, they only take one course in the summer sessions (2 or 3 credit hours) to be officially enrolled and eligible, and it is usually an easy course. If there is shock, it would be more likely to come in the fall when they are required by the NCAA to take a minimum of 12 credit hours per semester. But if he was academically good enough to be accepted considering Bradley's high standards, I think he would have handled it.

Chico, I am with you. If it was not academics, I'm thinking he might not have been interested in the grueling individual work it takes to condition a team for MVC play? I am surmising and could be wrong, of course. So, we missed on one. Our coaches have done a nice job, bringing in talent against the odds. You can't be perfect in picking personnel.

it is being reported that Illini transfer Greg Eboigbodin has 3 offers so far....
Louisiana Tech, Northeastern...
and the third one is SIU - but he'd be ineligible this coming year...(SIU has a history of scooping up cast-off Illini big men)

also - former BU recruit Daniel Soetan is also still uncommitted

Any rumors of a replacement for Bile this late in the process or more likely the scholarship will just get rolled over?

saw a report that Illini transfer Greg Eboigbodin was going to announce Monday - but Monday came & went without any word...

Mickey Pearson is still playing AAU even tho he's graduated....possibly planning on prep school?

Louisville Courier-Journal column this morning says Mickey Pearson is now looking into....going to prep school - I suspect he has academic issues -

He is talking...".... reclassify to the Class of 2019 ....... landing at a prep powerhouse.."
His dad mentioned IMG Academy and Hargrave Military Academy
..Pearson averaged 25.5 points and 11 rebounds per game at John Hardin, which attracted attention from Ball State, Bradley, Northern Kentucky, Stony Brook and Western Kentucky, among others."

Pearson is reportedly going to prep school
..two other guys we were once recruiting- Romon Douglas-Watkins & Charles Payton (older brother of Chris Payton) are still out there but no word where....usually a bad sign
