Recruiting wise things are picking up for Mack. "Recruiting has been going pretty good. I am hearing from most of the Big East, ACC, Atlantic 10, and some schools in the (Missouri) Valley."
So far he has taken a pair of unofficial visits and hopes to take another. "I took visits to Xavier and Marshall, and I would like to go to Bradley, but I am not sure if I will be able to."
Mack visited for Xavier's game against the Illinois Fighting Illini, when asked what he thought, he said, "It was a nice school. It sounded real loud. I would like to get to a home game when they are playing on campus."

Rivals has an article with a report on Shelvin Mack. His team, Bryan Station High School in Lexington, Kentucky, played Kentucky signee Darius Miller and Mason County High School. Mason County beat Bryan Station 84-71.

Darius Miller, who is a top candidate for Kentucky Mr. Basketball, had 31 points and 9 rebounds.

Here is the report on Shelvin Mack--
Bryan Station's Shelvin Mack is a close friend and AAU teammate of Miller on the D-I Greyhounds based out of Cincinnati. A 6-foot-3, 205-pound combo guard with a body that seems suited for playing linebacker on a college football team, Mack is a sleeper prospect with enormous potential.

On Friday, he scored 29 points on 10-of-20 shooting from the field and a 7-for-11 effort at the foul line, where he arrives on a frequent basis thanks to a hard-charging, attack-the-rim style. But most impressively was what he did without the ball in his hands, grabbing a game-high 17 rebounds and recording four steals.

"We didn't get the win, so I'm sure I could have done some things better," Mack said. "I thought I did alright. I needed to shoot the ball a little better from the outside and take better care of the ball.

"I had no idea I had so many rebounds. I just try to play hard and win. I don't really think of the stats."

"Shelvin's a great player," Miller said. "He's my roommate on AAU trips, so I've really gotten to know him well. It's fun to play against him. He's a few inches shorter than me, but he makes it tough to score. He's always all over you. I thought he played a great all-around game tonight. He's going to be a real nice pick-up for some college."

According to Mack, he's getting recruited heavily by Marshall, Evansville, Bradley, UAB and Arkon.

"They've all offered except UAB," he said. "I'm still waiting to hear back from them"

"This is a big year for me," Mack said. "I hope to get some more attention. I'm just taking it one game at a time and working hard to see who's interested in the end. I'm open to anyone right now."
