BU recruit- 2015- Brady Ernst

article on BU recruit Brady Ernst -
http://www.clintonherald.com/sports...cle_adb12b21-946e-5194-8634-15f20c9b0479.html

he has the 3rd leading rebounding average in the state
http://www.sportsspotlight.com/high...stical-Leaders-_-As-of-January-7th/2015-1-7/0

he had a 24 point/22 rebound game this year

From what I have seen - Ernst may be the only big man we are still pursuing or have offered I guess we're targeting mostly guards
..hope we are looking at a few guys who can shoot over 40%

Let's go get him . That's the kind of kid we need. A big that sounds like he can shoot. Plus UNI offered ,must be a shooter. Probably a big hill to climb going up against them but we have a lot of minutes he can get right away. IMO

Is he related to the Ernst lady who just got elected to the Senate? I do Genealogy and had some Ernst relatives that lived over that way

don't know,
but here's site that may be of some interest to fans...

and I wish we had something like this in Illinois...

but this site keeps track of every stat on every high school team and individual in Iowa...
Pretty amazing - the stats can be sorted any which way

Here's a ranking of the highest ranking boys teams
http://www.quikstatsiowa.com/Public...?IDSport=57C38F60-B323-4087-A557-9ED925DC546D

but you can sort and see the highest scoring teams by clicking on Pts./G (points per game) etc...

BUT - the most useful stats are the individual stats - you can see who the best scorers & best shooters are
http://www.quikstatsiowa.com/Public...?IDSport=57C38F60-B323-4087-A557-9ED925DC546D

if interested - the same site also keeps track of the high school kids' baseball, football, volleyball, softball, and other stats...
Like I said - sure wish we had something like this for Illinois HS kids

one more thing - there are literally hundreds of kids who hit 3-point shots at 50% or better...
I'm not implying they are all DI candidates, but it is pretty impressive how many kids DO have the ability to shoot 50, 55, even 60% or better from the arc..
surely some of them are DI talents - UNI and Grinnell sure find them - so we ought to be able to find a couple!!!

Bradly Ernst update...

Tuesday night Bradly Ernst had 24 points & 17 rebounds....
BUT...he was not the star of the game! His teammate, shooting guard Derrick Howard, was on fire and scored 35 points!

I'm not sure whether Ford is considering him or not. Heck, I'm not even sure even who will be coach next year. How long does it take a post player to recover from an injury like this?

I wonder how many teams have backed off recruiting him?

I doubt if Bradley could afford to have a freshman sit out a redshirt injury year.

not good news...
BU prospect Brady Ernst was injured with a knee injury, and will not return this season
He tore his ACL last Monday -

Brady Ernst is still wide open and right now - with his knee six months away from being back on the court - all his offers are on hold...
He may go the juco route or prep just so his college "clock" does not start ticking, but he still could be a bargain for a DI school with scholarships who want to take a chance...

I think he could be a steal - just hopefully recovers well from the surgery

Agree, just not sure if Coach Wardle is recruiting him tho. He was one of Geno"s recruits. I know he visited ISU on the 4/21. Northern Iowa is recruiting him also , so that tells you something right there. i hope we are recruiting him, I love the recruits we have coming in, now we need some bigs. He put up some monster numbers before his injury. Another ACL injury sidelined Jack Lieb from Deerfield last year. He is back on the court now and playing for the Illinois Wolves. He is a 6'9" 250lb center with very little D1 interest so far. SIUE offered yesterday. I believe both of these kids have LOTS of upside and yet are under the radar because of their injuries. Go after them Coach Wardle, you cant teach height.

Is Shaw the only center/Power Forward that we have? I know Thomas is supposed to be 6'6" but I do know consider him a center. With Shaw on the bench, it would seem we play with Thomas and four guards.

Have some patience LTF . I don't think we are finished recruiting. yet.
