Bradley has been recruiting Class of 2008 point guard Lewis Jackson for a while and it has been posted here on Bradleyfans.com. But a new premium article on the Rivals.com site discusses his participation in the Iowa Elite basketball camp held this past weekend on the campus of the University of Iowa (see below)
.
Here is a summary of the camp and the players invited to play in it (this one might also require a password)-
http://iowa.scout.com/2/537001.html

There were several players there that Bradley is recruiting, such as Lewis Jackson and Jeremy Robinson (of Decatur Eisenhower), Tyler Storm (Geneseo), Brandon McGee (Chicago Crane), and Dairese Gary (already committed to Iowa).

Steve Alford and his staff worked the camp and got big committments from a couple of the best players there--

The new Rivals article profiles Lewis Jackson.
Jackson picks up Iowa offer-
http://www.chicagosports.rivals.com/content.asp?CID=550242

It quotes Jackson as saying-
"I picked up two new offers today. The University of Iowa offered me and Bradley also offered me," Jackson said.
The offer from Bradley, who made a deep run into the NCAA Tournament this past year was also good news.
"The Bradley offer was nice too. They have been following me since my freshman year and they have a good program and they are close to home."
"I am going to wait for a while and see what other offers I might get," Jackson said. "My mom and I will sit down and we will probably get it done before my senior year. We just want to look at the schools and take visits and see what is out there for me."

Lewis Jackson Profile--
He has some pretty impressive schools recruiting him. Of the 13 schools listed, Bradley is the only one that is not a high major-

Roadrunner?

Roadrunner?

Do we really need this guy? I mean with Maniscalco and all of our other guards..............What would the plan be? Turn Maniscalco into a reserve shooting guard behind Fears, et. al?

Is Jackson really that good? He seems very small to me. :? Even smaller than Ruff. I guess if he turns out to be as good as The Roadrunner, Willie Scott, it really won't matter.

This kid is just a sophomore, class of 2008.
I think it is a good idea to recruit at least 1 guard with point skills just about each year. Especailly if the kid is top quality like Jackson is.
And being that he is only a soph, he will likely grow a few more inches.

 Lewis Jackson's coach is a really good friend of mine...He tells me just this weekend that if he improves his out side shot he will not be at Bradley!!!He is probably the quickest guard in the state of the dribble and can get the ball inside better than anyone around...The kid really likes how Bradley is close to home and we are of course in a good conference...But as usual he likes the attention of BCS schools that are close to home..I hink that if he does not end up at Illinois or Iowa he will be a Brave from what my friend tells me!!!He also told me he thinks he will be better than Tyrise Brysion he also helped coach him!!!

you can never have enough good gaurds, especially true point players, if we can get high quality kids like Jackson we should make every attempt to do so. we dont want to end up like CU and be suddenly faced with a big question mark at the most important position on the floor.

Like center? :D

"if he improves his shot he won't be at BU"....so if he can't shoot we get him :?

Sorry, if he can't shoot I don't want him.

Scout has a new article about Lewis Jackson. Minnesota is making a late push for him.--

http://scouthoops.scout.com/a.z?s=75&p=2&c=662634

This is probably a subscription article. It says--
Lewis Jackson, a 5-foot-9, 175-pound point guard from Decatur (IL) Eisenhower, helped lead Indiana Elite to the semifinals of the adidas Super 64 tournament in Las Vegas this weekend. The lightning quick playmaker has gotten plenty of recruiting interest and is getting a late push from Minnesota.
Jackson told Golden Sports.Net that he is hearing from Indiana, Purdue, Illinois, Bradley, Illinois State, USC, UNLV, Minnesota and Gonzaga.
Jackson is hoping to make his college choice soon.
"I'm hoping to cut my list to five schools after Vegas and decide in August."
