It would be/is but so much differs from year to year that it really has no bearing. Also the commitee supposedly doesn't take into account past performances, whatever that's good for.

As much as I hate to say it, I think that our record against the top 50 rpi is a big fat bullseye that the committee will target as a reason why they didn't select us. I hope I am wrong, I just got a feeling this is what they'll say. Other than this 1 blemish, I don't see how we wouldn't be a lock--numbers wise.

Jim Nantz, would disagree with you on that one BUbrave, of course his theory probably only is concerning BCS conferences versus any mid major.

"Last year I asked a question that was backed up by facts," he said. "In the previous three years of the tournament, the ACC had won 25 games and the Valley had won one. So I asked, 'How is this possible?'"
 
Do you guys think Air Force is in? they have a good record, but play in the weak imo Mountain west conference, four straight losses to finish the season, and lost to wyonming whom is 16-14 in their tournament. plus i think they only have 2 wins over a top 50 team.

Air Force is out. They've lost 4 straight, including 2 to teams with a 100+ RPI. They're out.

ok they have a 7 or 8 seed in the bracket on espn, i suppose when that is updated, they will be gone.

Could be an interesting case. I do know that a 4 game losing streak is not the way to go into the tournament with a 2-4 RPI Top 50 record.

Yup, that probably eliminates Bradley. All I can say is that Missouri St and Drexel better say some prayers between now and 5 PM Sunday! :-o

Today was as bad as it gets for the bubble. Xavier and Nevada lose. K-State, Purdue, Mississippi St, and Illinois all win. Game. Set. Match. See you Wednesday for the white-out.
