I saw in the Journal Star today, that 50 years ago today, Bradley beat Louisville in baseball 14-3 behind the pitching of basketball player Ernie Thompson. Former Chicago Bear great Doug Buffone hit a home run off of Ernie in that game.

Ernie was at the games we played in 2006 up in Auburn Hills, Michigan...when Bradley advanced to the Sweet Sixteen.
He sat right with a large crowd of Peorians and was remarkably entertaining to sit by.

50 years ago TODAY...

Galesburg golfer DAVE LUNDSTROM
is the top area placer in the state tour-
nament at Champaign. Lundstrom had
a 36-hole total of 159 for a five-way tie
for eighth place. Central's Jim LeMaster,
with a 160, finishes in a five-way tie for
13th. Lundstrom, a senior, is headed to
Bradley to play basketball and golf.
