2019-20 Schedule- Non-conference schedule to be released Tuesday, August 6

One area we really need to work on is our schedule for next year. We have a good start with the Fort Myers tournament but we have a long way to go. Our non-con schedule was weaker than all but two team in the NCAA tournament (Abilene Christian and Gardner Webb) according to the Jerry Palm website. I know it is hard to schedule as a mid-major but this is not getting it done. SEMO, Chicago State, IUPUI,Eastern Ill, SE Louisiana are really just not getting it done. Some others are marginal but those are particularly weak0 and we lose the Mountain West Challenge next year. A weak schedule does not prepare us for the Valley, gives us zero chance for an at large, and if we do win the tourney leaves us in a position for a very low seed as we got this year. Again I realize it is hard but we need to do much much better than this year.

100% agree. What does the schedule look like currently? I know we have the tournament in Ft. Myers and does the St. Joe’s series start next year?

The St. Joseph's home and home series is proposed to start in 2019, but it is not a done deal yet. Things could still change, but it seems close to being finalized.

Let me know if anyone hears of other games...

Their solid season earned their head coach Robert Jones a 4-year contract extension.

If we do end up with Litte Rock on our schedule, we might see former Bradley recruit
Ben Coupet, Jr - son of former Bradley player Ben Coupet.
He has transferred from UNLV to Little Rock, altho he would need a waiver to be eligible in 2019-20.

As noted above, it is confirmed that Bradley will play UIC at home (Peoria). The Braves will also have a home game against IUPUI. Neither date is confirmed.
And the 2 home games that Bradley will play as part of the Fort Myers Tip-Off will reportedly be against Norfolk State and Radford.
The game against St. Joseph's this season (part of a home-and-home) will be a road game at St. Joseph's.
Bradley will also play a road game at Memphis either Dec. 3 or Dec. 4.

I am hearing that Bradley may be having talks with a WAC conference team (not Chicago State) about scheduling a game(s). More info should develop soon.

Grand Canyon and New Mexico State would excellent additions, both coached by rising stars. Utah Valley had a decent year. I don't know about any of the others.

Pitt’s schedule is out and they play Pine Bluff and Monmouth, which about confirms the Braves draw Radford. Should be on Nov. 21.

That seems to confirm the inside rumor I reported 2 weeks ago (see above quote and post #10 above)

One new addition to the schedule-
Bradley will play an exhibition game against Millikin University on Tuesday, October 29, at 6 pm, acccording to the Millikin schedule page-
https://athletics.millikin.edu/schedule.aspx?path=mbball

Radford is a great game for an MTE prelim. 22-11 last year, 137 NET and Big South co-champs. Unfortunately for them they lost their conference tournament final to Gardner Webb and lost the regular season title tie-break to Campbell who got the NIT bid.

It is taking a little longer this year to release the non-conference schedule for 2019-20.

I looked back to see when the non-conference schedules were released over the last few seasons.
2018-19 Non-conference schedule released July 26, 2018
2017-18 Non-conference schedule released August 16, 2017
2016-17 Non-conference schedule released June 10, 2016
2015-16 Non-conference schedule released June 3, 2015

Here is what we seem to know as of now-
-Possibly one more exhibition game (or a closed scrimmage vs. another D1 school)
-Possibly games with EIU, Georgia Southern &/or Little Rock (if those series were 2-for-1)
-IUPUI at Bradley - date to be determined
-UIC at Bradley - date to be determined
-Leading up to the Fort Myers Tipoff Bradley to get two home games vs. teams from what is described as the Hilo Division..
One will be Norfolk State, the other is suspected to be Radford

It's too bad that the finalized BU schedule could not be out prior to season ticket mailings. Having the finished schedule could be a positive help to season ticket sales.
