1 MVC game Monday 11/19

Yes... because we will play them twice and it helps to lift our conference RPI, even though until we play WSU, another UIC loss will hurt our RPI.

I know it's early but I hope the UIC loss doesn't end up like last years Tenn. Tech loss; a game we look back on with big regret that ends up being a "bad loss" on our resume and could change our postseason destination.

Tech was a 'bad' loss, but losing to Michigan St by 30 on national TV and losing at home to Missouri St and UNI probably had more impact on our postseason fate than that game did.

No offense BUB06, but let me give you a news flash.

When you play several actual non-con "road games" each year. You are likely to have at least one bad road loss. Annoying but true.

Maybe in a special year when you have lots of veteran players, there won't be a hiccup, but there will usually be one. The reason the "big boys" don't have to claim those types of losses at NCAA selection time, is that they don't play actual non-con road games.

Thanks for the news flash, I duno what I would do without you. I'm not saying that I expect us to go undefeated on the road every year, all I said was that the Tenn. Tech loss last year was a "bad loss" in the eyes of the NCAA Committee.

I will say this again, we will lose another non conference game, possibly even more then one and one of those losses might even occur in Peoria. Our non conference schedule if full of traps, Butler, Loyola, Wright State just to name a couple.

Winning Division 1 games is difficult but winning on the road is extremely difficult. It is though a full season and it is important how we play as a body of work rather then a few games and we want to be playing our best in Feb not Nov.

It was, but Missouri St and UNI at home were much worse. So were Illinois and Michigan St by 30. We could have lost Tennessee Tech, but won 2 of those 4 mentioned and still danced.

I am sorry BUB06 that my comment came off as it did. I didn't mean it that way. I am also sorry if you feel like I don't contribute positively to the board.:(

I would say just about EVERYBODY on the bubble last year had at least 1 bad loss. Some had worse ones than ours (at home even).

As BradleyBrave has said, you can get by with a bad loss if you have (enough) good wins to make up for it.

And let's not get focused on bad losses. In the 05-06 season, Missouri State had an RPI of 21 and their worst loss was AT #45 RPI Arkansas (79-75) who danced that year.... and Mo St didn't get invited.
