Oh, and one more note on this writer--
He made a massive blunder with this blog entry for the Evansville Courier-Press.
When he originally wrote the blog, he named the wrong officials! Here is a link to a ValleyTalk topic about this article, and read this early copied version where he originally named the officials in the 7th paragraph--
"The lead official, the guy with the shaved head, was Mark Mayhood. The other two, whom I can't differentiate, were Dan Nowakowski and John Moore".

In the current online version of the blog he gives different names!-
"Let's get their names straight. The lead official, the guy with the shaved head, was Mark Mayhood. The other two, whom I can't differentiate, were Terry Oglesby and Gene Grimshaw."

you'll notice some reader responses after it, one of which points out that he got the officials' names wrong. But the current version actually does have the right names (I checked the old official box score).
So this guy must have realized his blunder and gone back after he posted the original article and changed it to correct his mistake. Yet nowhere does he point that out, or make apologies for such a vitriolic rant on the officials he mis-identified!
This, and the fact that he is now ripping Steve Merfeld for what he initially ripped the officials, takes the cake for ineptitude in writing.

I think this goes a long way in showing that this writer simply likes to pick a topic and whine.
There is no real analysis here, no real coverage of anything, just one gripe after another,
in a fashion that makes me glad I don't live anywhere near this guy.

Maybe... heck, the B-Televen and the NCAA allow AD's to have scoretable/press-row antics. :wink:

Different. That was "somebody's" boss. An asst coach would be an underling. If my asst is altering the game flow negatively, I might have to kick him in the keester. :wink:

I guess the more dominant a character the former head coach was, the harder it would be to take a back seat role on the sideline.

Well, I seem to recall seeing Buescher (Sr) jawing with the refs once in a while while Les was talking to his players during a timeout.

I doubt Merfeld is gonna go nuts on the sidelines - but it won't surprise me if he gets involved in 'conversations' with the refs at times. Maybe Merfeld will become more relaxed now the "pressure is off".

Oh, and one more thing... I doubt you will EVER see a Bradley coach's boss with sideline/press-row antics - KK would just NEVER do something like that.

I don't want to turn this into a discussion about "what's his names boss" but being a commoner myself, I don't get that outraged about someone acting human. I'll leave that up to the intellectuals. And there are those who might say Buescher was JL's Cheney. How much CB will be missed and how well Merfeld will meld with the program will have to be seen. But I do know once you've been the boss, not being the boss is a whole different thing. Being a fan of the game I will enjoy watching it play out. (Sorry I have no links)
