Maybe I'm alone on this.....but with all the new player's coming in next season....plus all the hype....how about a "MIDNIGHT MADNESS" for everyone to get a look at the new player's? :-o

I think this is a great idea. I've really wanted this to happen at BU, but I think the reason it doesn't is that much of our fan base is 'older' (sorry, but it's true), so the 7 pm Fridays are much easier for them to make.

I really hope it happens sometime, but I just don't think it will. :(

I heard that real early in the program, Jim Les told a few jokes, and that one was "Danny Granger" related.
It was supposedly the funniest jokes of the night and was both very respectful of DG and also showed that the coaches were way past any bitterness.

Can anyone tell me what the joke was or a paraphrase of it?

He was talking about Dr. Mitch Griffin, the faculty rep who was running a bit late for a plane trip with the team.. JL called him to see where he was and when Dr. Griffin arrived on the plane, JL said.. Hey, if I will leave Danny Granger behind, you know I will leave you!"

Hhaha, that's pretty funny.

I wish I had been there!
That's funny.

Were there any other funny things?

Yea...a lot of jokes and lighthearted stuff, from the obligatory wise crack about Will Franklin's apparel
(Will was wearing a really hot pink dress shirt and Jim commented that Will must be washing his white dress shirts with the red uniforms again)

to the usual references and impersonations of Coach Joe Stowell by Dave Snell.

One reference was to assistant coach Chuck Buescher's age...
that given enough years in basketball, he finally achieved the Lifetime Achievement Award, and a lot of jokes were aimed at the "pundits" who had picked BU nearly last in the Valley.

I thought it was funny/entertaining when...

Forrester talked about returning to the aiport after defeating Kansas/Pitt and his daughter is used to the people/crowds/applause cause she thought it was for her.

Eric Buescher was thanking (K Vogt) for such great work on travel accomodations, especially his room assignment with his Dad for the past 2 years.

W Franklin acted like he came prepared with notes for a speech when actually they were DA's.

Snell joking about Indiana losing (in reference to someone who is a big IU fan).

Les mentioning we swept ISU this year.... again.

Les told the story of his daughter crying when we lost to SIU in the conference tourney championship and how she was upset we didn't cut down the nets... the only way to get her to stop being upset was to promise her we are gonna cut down the nets next year..... he said it might be at the Red/White, but we are gonna cut down the nets.

The stories about Lennox's and Jim's daughters were priceless, and pretty much drove home Jim's point about this being a family activity, not just for us fans but for their families as well.
