Here is the first of this week's new rankings:

CHN Top 50
http://www.collegehoopsnet.com/new/story/chn_top_50_january_21st28650

UCLA is #1, Kansas falls from #3 to #8, Pitt falls from #5 to #9,

MVC Teams:
SIU at #25
UNI at #33
Missouri State at #47

And for some bizarre reason these guys still have Appalachian State at #50.

In RPI's here is where the MVC teamks are:
#9 SIU
#31 MSU
#34 Bradley
#43 UNI
#44 Creighton
#61 WSU
#69 Indiana State
#91 Evansville
#116 Drake
#124 ISU

Now today's AP Top 25 is out, and similar to the USA Today Top 25,
there are only 2 MVC teams getting votes, UNI and SIU.

And here's the new Coaches Poll, and it's similar enough to the AP poll that it almost looks like they checked with each other before going public!

Good to see that at least the top 2 teams from the Valley are at least within striking distance from the top 25 week to week.

Here are some more rankings for your enjoyment:

The Mid-Major Top 25
http://www.midmajortop25.com/

In which all the MVC teams have dropped a bit and Butler (#1), VCU (#2), and Winthrop (#3) have taken over the top 3 spots.
There are still 5 MVC teams in the top 25, including BRADLEY at #22.
Four more MVC teams are getting votes with only Drake not getting any votes.

By the way, here are the SOS of the three teams on top in the poll:
Butler 96
VCU 201
Winthrop 227

Here are the SOS of the top 8 teams in the MVC:
SIU 11
MSU 30
BU 35
Creighton 43
UNI 46
WSU 61
Indiana St. 69
Evansville 90

Eight teams whose RPI's and stremgth's are better than BOTH VCU and Winthrop!
yet, the mid-major poll guys probably split the votes for the MVC teams and the other guys came in ahead.
Hard to believe.
