Many people will remember one of the best women's basketball players to play at Bradley, Heather Best. She now lives in Fairbamks, Alaska and made the news for a different sport- Winter Triathalon. Heather dominated the 5430 Sports Winter Triathlon on Sunday in Fraser Valley, Colo. easily beating 23 other women on the course that includes a 5-kilometer run, followed up with a 7.5K mountain bike ride and ended with an 8K cross-country ski. Best???‚¬?„?s time of 1 hour, 40 minutes and 56 seconds was nearly 10 minutes faster than the closest female and placed her 26th overall among 84 competitors

That is cool, quite a ways away from P-town. she was a Brave while I was there, my roomate used to challenge her and play her one on one in basketball. I doubt he was successful.

Heather was also there when I was there. We had some classes together and were at Haussler alot together playing hoops. She used to run pick up games with us all the time and took it too alot of guys who had no idea who she was.

Fun memories.

Went to a womens game about 3 years ago when Dena Willaims was still playing and they had a garage sale.....warm-ups-jerseys-shorts.....all game gear.......and get this....$5 each.....had to bump over Dave Snell to get enough shorts! :-o

I revived this ancient thread about BU women's great Heather Best because I found a mention of her, and I know some of our posters remember her, or knew her.

The University of Alaska-Fairbanks Nanooks women's basketball team played an exhbition against a group of Alaska alumni and others. Heather played for the alumni team.
Heather had 13 points and 8 rebounds, but she also had 9 turnovers.--
