This may have been addressed somewhere already, but what are the rules on redshirt eligibility? When Meta came over midseason did that automatically use up a year? He played sparingly in 6 games and got here in December/January. Seems like it shouldn't count. I think it may be because he played in those 6 games after a certain deadline. In retrospect, we probably shouldn't have done that.
If a player plays in any game, he uses up that year's eligibility, unless he applies for a medical waiver and it's granted.
Even for a medical waiver, there are stipulations. The team must provide documentation of a season-ending injury, the player must have appeared in fewer than 30% of the team's scheduled games (usually 9 or 10), and he cannot have played in any game past the halfway point of the schedule.
If a player fails to meet all those requirements, the school can appeal and ask for a waiver. And the NCAA seems to have been a little more generous in granting waivers the last few years.

Probably wishful thinking but would be great if all these newcomers pan out this season, most if not all the guys return the following one. Nice blend of youth and upper classmen who have recent success at high levels.

You have 15 available spots, Gus is one of the 15 and will have a scholarship. The way I understand it there pretty much are not walk ons anymore unless you choose to give less scholarships. Gus has earned his free ride.

We now have 4 free ones left, a center is a must, another point guard, another combo and wing that can shoot. I like the players we got today and the other recruits . They all add different skill sets to the team. I really like we found players with size and athletic ability. I believe the center position is the most important one as far as getting a decent one that is ready now to contribute.

Also if you carry 15 guys that all expect to play right away-you will have 5+ guys moaning every single day and a lot of discord.

Wondering when the recruiting window closes. Hope you are right Da Coach that we can expect more signings here soon. Hopefully some impactful players.
Here is the NCAA recruiting calendar. Definitions of the various periods are to the right. Recruiting can continuie through April 30, then they go into a 2 month dead period, except for the 3 brief periods in May related to the NBA Combine.
The transfer portal closes on April 21. No more players can enter after that date. However, players already in the portal, along with high school, junior college, etc, can still be recruited according to the recruiting calendar above.

I think we need another guard, a capable ball handler who can also shoot it.
And/or maybe a defensive stopper type guy.. somebody who is just a dawg.. not sure this roster has that
