yup, the dropoff of about 1000 due to the Covid years pales in comparison to the huge dropoff from around 10,000
down to just 5,000 from 2011 to 2015 when someone outside the Athletic Department grabbed the reins and took full control
of the basketball program and ruined everything. That person still doesn't get enough credit for the destruction that happened,

Thanks for not mentioning her name. Every time that I see her name a little shot of gastric juice is released and I don’t feel well.

Here is an interesting controversy at Missouri State. Yesterday, at their final home game of the season, a virtually meaningless game against the next-to-last team UIC, a fan noticed that Missouri State announced the attendance at 3,611 on their website. That attendance figure, if accurate, would be the 3rd highest attended home game of the season. And, according to their website's stats, it raised their final home average for the 2023-24 season to exactly 3,000 per game.
Photos of the crowd yesterday show what appears to be an actual attendance of just a few hundred spectators...

Could someone have bought up enough tickets just to push the season average up to 3,000? That seems very unlikely.
It it a simple series of mistakes? Or is Missouri State fudging the numbers on their own website to make it appear that the season average is 3,000 so it doesn't look as bad as it really is?

Missouri State beat writer's comment and images of the Missouri State website's stats- https://twitter.com/WyattWheeler_NL/status/1764654148186771790

But interestingly, the official MVC stats page reports much different numbers - https://s3.amazonaws.com/sidearm.si...documents/2023/11/7/2023_24_MVC_MBB_Stats.pdf
The MVC's official stats, which are reported to the NCAA, show a total of 38,390 for Missouri State's 14 home games, and an average of 2,742.

PS- it appears that these official MVC attendance numbers for Missouri State include a report of ZERO attendance for yesterday's final home game. Why Missouri State reported zero is not known.

I attended this year’s BU game at MSU. A wonderful night. The arena is awesome and very modern. However, it was quite empty that night. I’d put it comfortably under 2000 fans. Honestly, the folks we encountered were super nice… even seemed like they didn’t care that much anymore. It is great that we are on a different level in terms of fan support and fervor.

Pretty sad to see the MOST situation. I've never been there but you can for sure tell they have a wonderful facility and potentially environment. Just not cool to see an arena like that without anyone showing up.

Can’t help but say that what’s happening at Missouri State is eerily familiar.
If you pick the wrong people to lead your program, people who really don’t have a record of much success, then exhibit severe denial and keep whistling by the graveyard - and even give raises & extensions to the people running the show- that have mediocre performance,

Dana Ford has to be on the hot seat after this season. Completely lost their fan support.

Agreed... Dana Ford's contract situation is the only thing that could keep him from being fired this month. He reportedly signed a 5-year extension after a very good 2021-22 season, after going 23-11 with a roster that included Gaige Prim, Isiaih Mosley, Donovan Clay, Ja'Monta Black, Demarcus Sharp, etc.
The new contract paid him $375,000 for the first 2 years, 2022-23 and 2023-24, then $425,000 for the last 3 years, 2024-25, 2025-26, and 2026-27. So it would probably means there would need to be a buyout of $1,275,000.

Well, maybe you can take it up a level and get some maroon T shirts made and wear them this weekend? “Retain Dana” or “Ford is More!” or the like

That massive extension after a tie for 2nd was terrible. Ford has no titles and has never gotten past the Arch Madness semis yet they throw millions at him.

Done. I'll have one for you at the tourney.

Apparently the buyout is considerably less than that
