We should be seeing a game similar to the ones against UIC and Valpo here with Evansville coming to town. I want to see an aggressive Leons

Well, hard to get too excited about these last two games, but we did what we needed to nonetheless. Some teams would overlook these teams and we did not, however the ability to contend for a regular season championship will be told these next two games. Bradley needs to learn to show up on the road and win the biggest games of the year so far. One needed for sure and two would be really nice given we couldn’t split the last two road games.

Good game by everyone on both ends of court. 17 in a row @ home is a huge achievement. Bradley now tied for 7th place D1 home court winning streak....:-o:mrgreen::mrgreen::mrgreen:

Well that was fun.

Great effort all around. Defense was stifling and yeah, Evansville isn’t a good team but we just had our way with them. When you beat a D1 school by almost 50 points, that is nothing to disregard.
6 players in double figures, too, so there’s that.
Let’s get ready for a road win on Saturday now!

Official box score (from the Evansville website)- https://gopurpleaces.com/sports/mens...boxscore/11018

Attendance was 3,905 - that is the lowest attendance for an MVC game at home this season.

Evansville played pretty well in the 1st half, shot a decent 48% from the floor, and 36.4% from three, but they still trailed 46-30 at halftime because of Bradley's hot shooting.
Bradley ramped up the defense in the 2nd half, held the Aces to 4-21 (19%) from the field and 0-6 from three, and outscored Evansville 45-16. It could have been worse. Bradley was outscoring Evansville 41-5 over the first 17+ minutes before removing all the regulars, and emptying the bench. Evansville, with moist of their starters in until the end, then outscored Bradley's subs 11-4 over the last 2:42 to make the final score 91-46.

Bradley shot 35-64 (54.7%) for the game, and 12-24 (50.0%) from three. They were only 9-17 (52.9%) on free throws.
Need to keep this momentum going for the next 2 games at Drake and Indiana State.

If I had any concerns it would be the FTs...Ville seems to be the only player to make both anymore...Ville still sitting at 27 in a row, don't think he got a chance tonight...

Our free throw shooting is going to cost us a game before the season is over. I don't have stats, but it seems a perennial problem.

Should I admit this? I kind of felt sorry for the Purple Ace players tonight. Being down 50 can't be fun. Second admission- I don't like watching blowouts. I prefer watching close games. Not that I'm unhappy with the W.

Bradley is a 19½ to 20 point favorite over Evansville tonight.

I don't remember an MVC conference game in the past with that large a point spread.

C'mon DC - I know we wanna block out some bad years for Bradley as well as forget some schools that have left the MVC - But the MVC had an overly dominant Wichita State for a little while that had wide spreads on almost every game they played in the MVC, including (and especially) against Bradley.

I was actually referring to games when Bradley was a 20 point favorite over a conference foe. :)
