Does it seem like?

Does Zach ever get any offensive rebounds? I like Zach, wish he would play a little more under control, but I accept what he is. He did have a decent game last night.

But - does it seem like he spends too much time setting ball screens at the top of the key and doesn't get enough offensive rebounds down low? I see Salley get a lot more tip ins and put backs than Zach does. We need Zach to try to get some offensive boards. I loved the high-low sets with Salley high and Zach low finishing strong around the basket. No more jump hook fadeaways.....

Anyhow - i was shocked to see Zach had more offensive rebounds than Salley did this year..... We really do need Zach to become a beast on the boards. Not sure where our rebounds will come from if he doesn't get them.

Zach would lead the league in rebounding if he had any concept of positioning and fundamentals on the defensive boards. He is just too out of control...too often he's just looking to jump at anything that moves, rather than making the smart play by simply putting a body on someone and blocking out. I feel like I see the same play a dozen times every game this year. BU plays great D for 30 seconds, forces a miss from the opponent, and then I look down low to watch the battle for the rebound...only to see Zach horribly out of position. Either he has made a bad decision to leave the low block to jump out at the shooter who is already being contained by his defender...or he is so out of control running to the rim for a board that he has now completely overpursued the play and finds himself pinned under the backboard jumping at a rebound that is coming off two feet behind him now, right into the arms of a 6'4" guy that wouldn't have even seen the ball come off if Zach would have simply turned and put a body into him after the shot went up.
I know we are going to get outrebounded most nights as a team because of our size disadvantage across the board....but there is no reason that Zach Andrews, with his size and athleticism, shouldn't get 12 rebounds a night. 4 defensive rebounds for him last night in a game where Miss St. missed 32 total shots and got 12 offensive rebounds as a team is not a good performance.
