2019 & Beyond Recruiting Targets

Finke played AAU with my son and is a stud. ....
hey- if you know him then see if you can get us some inside news...

there are a few mentions that Bradley is in the mix- but here's a good article that I would love to know what's in it..
but it is a subscription - so if anyone can help - let us know...
"Tim Finke updates what schools he has been in communication with since announcing transfer..."
https://www.prephoops.com/2019/04/re...inke-transfer/

The transfer list is up to 529 and will probably reach 800+
Of the current 529 - only a couple dozen are quality kids who will transfer to Top 100 programs.
Then there are another several dozen like Kingsby or possibly Finke, that could help a good midmajor like Bradley
but as I check the Illini message boards - most of their fans don't really want to add a Tim Finke....they feel
that would be backtracking to the Groce-era...

then the rest of the 400-450 guys on that transfer list will NOT help any solid midmajor and are guys
just looking for playing time, going DII or juco or whose scholarship have been "pruned"...
Just check some of the names - many were pretty highly rated but can't get minutes or score 1 ppg.

In the past couple years since 2017- here are the guys who have transferred IN to the Missouri Valley
I came up with 33 names - only eight or so have done much yet to help their Valley teams...but the jury is still out on several.
Yarbrough & Townes in 2016 were an impact but Romine & others were not

I can't find much on Taylor. I remember Da Coach mentioning his name earlier. Here's a link to a premium article. I do not subscribe. Maybe someone else does and can give us the highlights.

Here is the top of the story:
Collinsville 2020 point guard Ray’Sean Taylor is a super athletic point guard who can score at all three levels. Acrobatic at the rim making difficult layups around defenders. Terrific body control finishing with either hand. Floater is another major weapon. Range on his three point shot. Good pull up jump shooter with consistent mechanics. Taylor[...]

Another new name has emerged..... Bradley has been recruiting a solidly built 6'0". 190 pound point guard from Canada named Adefolarin "Fofo" Adetogun. He is listed in several places as a class of 2020 recruit, but some sites refer to him as a 2019 recruit (Link) (Link). But he is already making official college visits, so he might be available for 2019.
Fofo played 2017-18 for the same college prep school that Ja'Shon Henry played for, Athol Murray College of Notre Dame Prep in Wilcox, Saskatchewan (near Saskatoon). In fact, some of his highlight videos feature Ja'Shon (see below). Fofo Adetogun is a high scoring guard with great leaping and athletic abilities. He can also play the off guard position, but is primarily a point guard.
He played this past season with a new 1st-year private prep school,The Edge Prep in Alberta, Calgary, that is coached by his former high school coach (Adam Huffman) who the Bradley coaches know well from recruiting Ja'Shon. He is reported to be a class of 2020 recruit.
He was visiting UMKC the last couple days. It's possible he might also be visiting Bradley.

Here are his stats and a few highlights from this past season at The Edge Prep-

Here are some of other schools that have been recruiting Fofo-
https://www.facebook.com/DoggpoundHo...type=3&theater

He is currently playing with a spring/summer AAU team in Canada in the Nike EYBL circuit named UPlay Canada-
https://twitter.com/D1Circuit/status...29473475485699 (note this site calls him a 2020 recruit)

Videos-
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ANT83oYB-8c (note a slightly thinner version of Ja'Shon Henry in this video [#11])
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cow_KVRHfRU

One of the videos claims he has a 6’9” wingspan. Obviously unofficial, but that would give him a similar build to Rajon Rondo. That is one strong guy. I kept watching those videos thinking, “there’s no way this guy is a 6 ft point guard. He’s built like a power forward.” Idk if he’d be exactly what this team needs, but he’d be an intriguing player.

I'm not saying he could not be a great recruit, but how many point guards do we need? In 2020 we already have Kingsby (verbal commit), Thomas, and Price. Granted Price's LOI is not official since it was signed this year.

Price is not really a pure point guard, and as you say, there might still be uncertainty he ends up at Bradley.
Kingsby's best position may be the 2-guard spot, though he can play point guard. So the only pure PG lined up for 2020 would be Thomas, and he is a bit of an unknown at this point.

The more I searched, there are many sites that say Adetogun is available for 2019.
https://twitter.com/Elias_NPH/status...19811993108480

So if he came for 2019-20, he would give Bradley another backup point guard for next year, and someone who will contend for the starting spot for 3 more years. Plus he is a good outside shooter, something Thomas is not yet.

Bradley's past has shown more than once that a successful team needs more than 1 or 2 true point guards.

Plus, Coach Wardle likes to play multiple point guard types at a time. I understand being interested in positional balance on the roster but not all teams play the same so you build a roster to your style. Additionally, you always go for the best players you can get even if it bumps someone out down the line. Maybe the coaches believe he’s that talented and worth pursuing in spite of any positional conflicts.

the guy reminds me a little of Rayvonte Rice but if has the desire on the inside, he can help us even if he is only 6-0

Height is not much of a limiting factor in the MVC.
8 of the last 16 Players of the Year were 6'1" or shorter.

Bradley is still involved with a few other very good 2020 kids- point guard Nijel Pack of Indianapolis Lawrence North HS, guard Anthony Leal of Bloomington South HS (Indiana), and a kid we first started following in the summer of 2017 in high school in Kentucky, Jayden Scrubb, now a freshman at John A. Logan Community College in Southern Illinois.

Article about 2020 Bradley recruit Anthony Leal. As we recently reported, he still mentions Bradley among his offers-

I wouldn't mind seeing us make another run at Tom Welch if Moser leaves and their commits are released. I know we offered him before. I'm sure Mullins will make a run at all three of Loyola's 2019 class if Moser goes to St. Johns.
