Andrew Warren, just today, received an invite to the Portsmouth Invitational Tournament.

From his Twitter account:
Jus[t] got an invite to The Portsmouth Invitational! The nations top workout for seniors! #Blessed

He'll be playing with and against Gilbert Brown, Mike Davis, Jon Diebler, Corey Fisher, Austin Freeman, Matt Howard, Gary McGhee, Jacob Pullen, Jamie Skeen and Chris Wright.

I don't know much about how prospects rise and fall at this tournament, but it's nice to see his continued hard work pay off.

Any other Braves recently been invited to this Tournament?

it's nice for Andrew but the Portsmouth tournament is still largely composed of folks who are longshots to make it in the NBA. hope he does well.

There are other advantages for players who get exposure at these high level predraft camps. There will be scouts from European and other foreign leagues, as well as coaches and execs from NBA D-League and other pro leagues. A lot of the decisions about who gets invited to NBA summer league teams (if they don't get cancelled) comes from Portsmouth.

C'est vrai, DC. in fact, the gentleman on my avatar, Reggie Williams of VMI, starred at the Portsmouth tournament and then went on to play in France and lead the NBDL in scoring before catching on with Golden State as sixth man. I think Jim Les might've gone to the Portsmouth tourney as a player as well...

There were a few GMs that requested that AW participate. It will be interesting to see which summer league team he'll be invited to play for. He deserves all the attention he is getting.

there is a website rating all these players with letter grades

the guy never did AW for day 1 or day 2........................but he did like 30 players
