Taken right from the article you linked...
Reached by cell phone Thursday, Sutton said his policy was "not to comment on other jobs."
So if SS didn't comment on the situation, how did the $725K figure get out there? Must be some bloggers network or something...
I call major BS...
Who's to say they aren't throwing a number out for this guy because they know he's in the running for the Mizzou job and this pulls interest.
I don't believe the guy was offered anything here and I'm really starting to question whether some of these interviews took place or not...
See, the thing is, short of having tv coverage or photos taken, no one really knows for sure truth or fiction at this point.
It must be nice to be able to pick and choose what reports and or rumors we believe.
This report fits with other local reports I have heard. It is definitely true.
Sutton is one of many that have turned Bradley down, despite huge increases in salary.
Honestly, it just sounds like bad luck we targeted a guy (Sutton) who immediately has a plum chance at a BCS job open up in front of him (Missou).
you can question anyone's reliability....in fact I do it all the time...and get ripped like heck when I question even stuff that gets reported by then later retracted by our local media!!!
...but the guy is "a 16 year veteran Los Angeles sports reporter and broadcaster"
he is cited as reference by Foxsports, CNN, and NBC news, CBS Sports, Time, Los Angeles Times, New York Times, ESPN, Jim Rome, and many other sites....
