NOT TRUE!

This is how rumors turn into supposed fact. That link quotes something named Indiana's News Center as a source confirming that Fife "interviewed with Bradley".
But, I checked the IndianasNewsCenter.com site-
http://www.indianasnewscenter.com/s...ey-University-Have-Job-Meeting-118140474.html

and guess what they quote for their source? The Peoria Journal Star! The very source that now admits they might be wrong about this report!

There is nothing there about the IPFW Athletic Director confirming a job interview with Bradley, only that Fife was in Peoria.
Here is what the IndianasNewsCenter.com actually said-
His current boss, IPFW athletic director Tommy Bell told Indiana's NewsCenter Fife indeed was in Peoria Wednesday, while also saying Fife's current IPFW deal, which has two years remaining, is currently under discussions with Fife about being extended.

hmmm...so everything keeps going back to the PJS report that they have backed away from.

I have a trivia question for you or anyone that can answer this question. Who was shooting the free throw when Bobby threw the chair in your avatar?

I will say Howard would prob be in my top 2 choices. He will be able to recruit and i also think he could be the guy that saves alot of the guys from asking for their release

Just curious...why would Howard be in your top 2 choices...He CAN recruit, however he has virtually no coaching experience. At Uof I his responsibility is pretty much limited to recruiting. Recruiting alone will never get the job done??????? There has to be many coaches out there that have more to offer....

I don't know. It was against Purdue. I also know that Doug Lee was sitting out his transfer year for the Boilermakers that year (84-85).

Duncan Reid's son Steve was shooting the free throw when Coach Knight tossed the chair to the elderly woman across the court who was looking for a place to sit.

If someone saw Bruce Pearl in town we'd probably be talking about him being a candidate

Wasn't Coach K seen at the Peoria International Airport recently?;-)

Thought I saw him get off a plane with Kyrie Irving:!::!::!::!:

Package deal:doubt::doubt:

:lol::lol::lol:

Bingo p man it was Duncan's son Steve. Good thing the chair missed or Bobby might have had a surprise visit at his door. Two hot tempers I'd pay to see that fight.

newspapers in Ohio report that Dane Fife just interviewed for the Kent State job

I had a friend that played baseball at IPFW as of 07/08. He said Fife was making under $100,000 (he thought $85,000) and the basketball facilities are AWFUL. He said the feelings around town/school were that he was doing alot more with what he had them many other would have/will do once he is gone (even with the subpar record). It's impossible to recruit and his assistants were likely making less than $30,000 a year.

I would want out too...

Dane didn't get any of the other jobs that have been open...but Eastern Michigan just fired their coach and guess what...

Fife is reportedly campaigning for this job, too...maybe he really wants out of Ft. Wayne...or just maybe......
this is what he was really after....just tryng to make his bosses pony up a little more "coin"...

BTW Todd Lickliter was once an assistant at EMU -- but I can't imagine he'd drop down to that level... ;)

Maybe we can entice him to work under Geno! I'm sure we could offer a bit more then $100 K for an assistant.
