AW's 33 points Saturday night were the most scored by any D-I player on his senior night,
and he is the ONLY player in the entire nation to have a game of 30 points, 10 rebs, 5 assists, and 4 steals
(30/10/5/4)

If there ever was a player from a 9th place team who deserved the Player of the Year Award in the MVC it IS Andrew Warren!!!
Also -- one more accolade -- Andrew Warren is ONLY the third player in all of MVC history (one of the others was Hersey Hawkins) to lead the Valley in BOTH free throws made and 3 pointers made.

Odum was NOW

One other trivia question...
Doug McDermott currently has 443 points.....who is the ONLY freshman in the past 50 years in the MVC to score more than 520 points in his freshman year? (not Hersey -- he had 439)

A.Warren should be player of the year just because of all the attention the opposing teams give him trying to stop him from scoring, no one else commands that much attention , Weems is a heck of a player but has a better supporting cast which is why MO.ST. won the league, I realize they never give the league MVP to a player on the last place team but if there never has been a more deserving one then Andrew and his stats back it up.

In this unusual year, Warren might of won the Valley MVP on a last place team, but I think the voters will look at his stats and Weems stats in the 2 games we played them. Warren is 1st in all major stats in the Valley this season but Weems totally schooled Warren in head to head live matchups.

1st game-

Weems shot 12-14 for 27 points, 7 boards and 4 assists
Warren shot 8-18 for 21 points, 2 boards and 1 assist

2nd game-

Weems shot 7-10 for 27 points, 6 boards and 0 assists
Warren shot 5-16 for 12 points, 3 boards and 3 assists

They guarded each other?

Question here would be:

Would Andrew Warren have put up those numbers if Brown and Sammy were healthy?

Would Kyle Weems or Kwadzo Ahlegbe put up better numbers on Bradley this year?

What would Andrew's numbers been if he had played for WSU or MSU?

Great year for Andrew, he is awesome, I'm not taking anything away from him, but giving the POY to someone on the worst team is like giving the Miss America crown to the best looking girl at the Elbow Room. Which on some nights is me, and I'm not a girl.

Andrew deserves any accolades he gets, but somewhat homerish to suggest he is the league's best player.

Your comparison is invalid. You may be the best looking girl in the Elbow room, but your looks don't compare with Miss America contestants. OTOH, Andrew's points and performances were achieved playing against the same schedule and teams as Weems or anyone else in the MVC.

I also think AW's chances of POY would have been even betrter if TB and SM had played, since clearly the only thing many voters had against him was playing for a team finishing at the bottom of the league. With a healthy team, Bradley would have been a contender, and AW would be POY (unless TB or SM are). :)

.. Andrew's points and performances were achieved playing against the same schedule and teams as Weems or anyone else in the MVC.
..

actually no -- the bottom teams face few of the bottom teams and the top teams face few of the top teams simply because no team has to play itself..
so AW's conference strength of schedule was tougher than Weems'
