Louisville Eastern went to 2-0 with a huge win over Louisville Manual HS 101-54.
BU recruit Remy Abell had 19 points, including a game-high 3 three pointers.
This article says Abell made 10 of 11 shots, but that has to be incorrect

Donivine Stewart scored 14 points in Limestone's loss to Peoria Notre Dame 76-56.
Max Bielfeldt had 25 points for PND.

Nate Well's Davenport West team plays today.

Donivine was triple teamed most of the game according to several sources...
He was NOT tripled teamed. Who ever told youthat was mistaken. When he would penatrate the lane more then one person may have been trying to stop him but he wasn't triple teamed without the ball. When Blumenshine was on him the first quarter Donivine had his way with him and that was solely one on one. The 6'8" Blumenshine could not guard him but ND'S guards had no problem guarding him. I've seen Donivine for 3 years now and last night was probably his worst game as a Rocket. Everyone has them don't get alarmed yet. N.D's guards played great D on him and had help when he had the ball.N.D.'s defense on the whole Rocket team was the difference in this game. They were impressive to say the least. Can't wait for their match up with Central or Manual. You don't want to miss it. It will be special.

I was at the Limestone/ND game last night. First off, Limestone, save for Stewart, is really, really bad. He has absolutely no help. He was not Triple teamed but even when he gave up the ball his defender really didn't even pay attention to the rest of the players or the ball, basically just faced Stewart and spied him the whole time....When Stewart did penetrate, the rest of the Irish players were very quick to rotate and help, basically leaving their man totally to help.

I wasnt overly impressed with Biefeldt, he was good, but I think he's gonna have a few issues at D1. He was pretty slow with the ball around the basket, wasn't as big(bulky) as I thought he was gonna be, and didn't really see any true offense from him. Got a lot of points because Limestone's press was awful and didn't have anybody over 6'4. Mostly layups and free throws. Maybe hes got a lot more in the repertoire, but just didn't see it last night cuz he didn't need it...IDK.

Davenport West won tonight to go to 2-0. They clobbered Iowa City High School- Final 61-40.
Davenport West lead 34-11 at halftime, and coasted to the win.

Nate Wells had 12 points- 3 field goals and 6-8 FTs.

Remy Abell's team (Louisville Eatsern) had a game scheduled tonight, but it was cancelled due to weather.

The last time Davenport West beat Iowa City was in 1994.

Quick question for Da Coach... How do you get your stats so quickly? My main source of info on West games comes from qcvarsity.com which is an adjunct of the Quad City Times. The only thing I saw updated there was the win/loss chart for all local schools. At the time of my writing this, there was no other mention of tonight's game results, much less any stats about Wells.

Thanks!

Remy and DS would be a young talented backcourt along with Walt Lemon. Unfortunately I don't think it will ever happen. I am not sure if DS will still come, but I think Remy Abell will end up somewhere else.

Please :? They are both 100% committed to BU and will be here next year, along with the other 2 commits.

Come on Lake Camelot. How can you even say this? You have BF cred, so do not blow it with these shoot from the hip statements.

Well I don't mean to say I know he won't be here next year. It is just from my past experience when a coaching change takes place players from out of the area are released from the LOI and go somewhere else. I will admit I am really down on our situation this year. I just don't see how that isn't going to happen. I would much rather we turn it around and move on next year with the current staff and incoming recruits but I don't see how that will happen the way things look.

That's more like it. I thought that is what you were thinking. I'm hoping that JL can pull off his best coaching performance to date and why not? Sometime it is times like this where you find out what you are made of. He's a competitor and I would not write him off so soon.

Please. Remy and DS will both be here next year. And I believe Les will as well. As long as BU plays hard, I think the administration should keep him, regardless of how poor the record is.

+1

I could not believe it when I saw Notre Dame's biggest (6'8'') and slowest guy guard him. Notre Dame played man all night and only ran a guy at him when DS drove the lane. When ND put their guards on him starting the 2nd quarter he really struggled getting off a good shot. I was also suprised that Limestone many times had another guard on the point and had DS start from the wing.

One thing of note......The 3 guards that ND used to guard Stewart all have ties to Bradley. One has committed to us in soccer (Gilfillan), one has made a visit to Bradley for soccer (Lane), and the last one is a Molinari.

WHY?????? so if we don't win another game the rest of the year we should still keep JL?? Just because we lose 2 of our top 3 players he still needs prove hes a good coach.
