Iowa coach sounds like he wants to end the series with Drake & UNI

There can only be one reason he spoke today at Iowa's Media Day...
..saying he's "not sure" that Iowa will continue to play the other instate schools -- UNI, Drake, and Iowa State...
It is a pretty obvious reference to his desire to dump the yearly games against the smaller instate schools...

I'll bet after Dec. 18, when he's absorbed losses from UNI & Drake, he'll probably state his position a bit more clearly...:-o

lol I hate U Iowa so much. The only good thing about that school is the neat indoor rowing center.

Who in there right mind would want to put Iowa in any sort of made-for-TV game?

UNI is probably all for getting Iowa off the schedule, they are an RPI killer and do nothing for UNI's resume.

Iowa right now should feel very fortunate that UNI will even cosider playing them, if UNI wasnt required to play Iowa, Im sure they wouldnt mind seeing the Hawkeyes go away.

To me, the telling thing is he wants to throw out Iowa St in addition to the MVC schools. That's just moronic. You don't rid of rivalry games.

McCaffrey comes from a school where you treasure every single opportunity against a big boy. I think he'll learn about the nuances and availability of big games as a power conference school and scale back on his comment.

Perhaps Drake and UNI can schedule games against Nebraska once they are in the Big 10 (or whatever it will be called). They have as many fans in Iowa as Univ of Iowa does.... :lol::lol::lol:

Somehow I don't think the Iowa Legislature will take too kindly to Iowa bowing out of the intra state BB matches. What's next, ending the Iowa - Iowa State FB game?

If U of Iowa wants to kiss off some of their State funding, the Capital is in Des Moines, go for it...:twisted::twisted:
