Illinois up early on Wisconsin

Illini up 14-8 about 1/2 thru first period

Evan Turner hits a 35 footer to win their game!

I thought Michigan played about as poor a defense as could be played in that final 2.2 seconds. Cant let a guy cover 25 feet uncontested before applying pressure. Any pressure at all would have made an attempt to get a clean look next to impossible.

at half, Illinois up 29-20........
Jon Leuer is 4-8 for Wisconsin, but the entire rest of the team
is a combined 2-25 from the floor and 1-9 from 3pt!!

Go Illini.......lay it on Bo!!

Well barring a collapse, Illinois will most likely make the tournament. Illinois up 36-26, under 13 to go, now just getting to the under 16 TO.

you know something is wrong with Wisconsin when a red headed kid named Bruiziwitcz is in and* commits a foul with 3 seconds left on the shot clock.....lol

Not so fast! Three 3's by Wisconsin in the last minute have pulled to within 2! 56-54 Illinois with 24 seconds left, FT's coming for Illinois.

Whew! Illinois survives 58-54 over Wisconsin. This should be enough to get them into the NCAA Tournament, but l don't think they passed the "eye test" towards the end of the game!

They never had a double digit lead against Bradley like Lavin said, at least not that I remember.

Also the fact that a 19-14 record is "a lock" to get in the tourny if they lose tomorrow is a joke. If their name wasn't Illinois they wouldn't be near a lock, their RPI and SOS are high, they played inconsistent all year and poor down the stretch. They also practically gave that game away when they needed it most. I think WSU should get more consideration if UofI is a lock. The eye test thing is a big joke to get the big boys in.

They were very inconsistent. Perhaps there needs to be a measure of that as an unqualifier. Not sure the full validity, but BW, on the SCORE the other day mentioned that the Illini are top 4 in the nation in terms of the number of wins vs top 20 RPI teams. I do not think there is a question the Illini could pull upsets, but are they really going to bring their best basketball to the NCAA's?
