Nice review of Ron Ferguson's Thornridge team

You guys should check out the biography on the perfect Thornridge team of '71-'72. It's called "Thornridge: The Perfect Season in Black and White". It was released in November 2009. The author was a player at Lincoln HS at the time so he has an interesting perspective.

One of the best sports books I've ever read. Great story that spoke as much about social issues of the time since Thornridge was a recently desegregated school in the late 60's. Excellent story that would make a very good movie.

I highly recommend it.

Yep

Yep

Lefty, I remember being glued to the radio when Thornridge played Kewanee.
Didn't Kewanee have the lead or a tie late? As I remember "Buckner stoled the
balll...."

Yeah....Kewanee was tied late in the game with the ball I think..when it all came apart. Kewanee had an athlete named Tom Smith who went on to play basketball and track at KU....
