MVC tiebreaker synopsis

Just like last season, I've received some PMs about posting my detailed analysis of the MVC standings and tiebreakers.

I've ran all of the numbers and what a crazy finish we are in for with the Valley! I could have spent a couple more hours looking at the whole thing, but eventually you just have to step back and let them play the games.

Anyway, back by popular demand, here is my breakdown:

Thanks, great analysis, didn't realize the the Sycamores have a decent chance at 3rd if they can get the upset win at Redbird Arena. Personally I think that it would work out better for BU if that does happen and BU ends up with the 6 seed. Granted that would mean that we have to play WSU in the 2nd round but they seem to be having a tough time lately. This also means that ISU and Creighton have to play each other and those two teams scare me more than anybody because ISU is just better than us and Creighton always seems to play well in St. Louis.

Thanks again for the analysis.

I think Bradley can beat ISU if they play again. We should have beaten them the last time we played, we lead nearly the entire game, and Dinma didn't hurt us much in the game at Carver.

Like others have said, this team can beat anybody on a given night, it just depends on which team shows up. I don't want to face Illinois St., but maybe it would be better for us to play them first, beat them, and then really have some momentum going into Saturday. I think a big victory over the Redbirds would be a huge boost of confidence for this team and with having to play the next day, there isn't that time gap for the momentum to wind down which we have seen happens to this team after a big W.

According to DR in today's PJStar, BU right now is playing ISU in the Valley tourney.

As 3 plays 6, that would fall in line with what I posted. I also agree with DaCoach that BU can beat ISU down there, too. But of course, BU can lose to anyone as well.

I think it'd be hard to have any real surprise on what Bradley does at the tournament, good or bad. The team has been so inconsistent all year that every game is a total flip of the coin. That's either really exciting or really frustrating, depending upon your point of view.

I don't think we can...

That being said, I think we somehow find our way back home, and by home I mean 2:35 Friday.

We do not matchup well against ISU , they probably are playing better then anyone in the league plus I think they have by far the most depth of anyone in our league.

as a senior, no way King O gets bounced the first round on Friday. Avoid ISU at all costs. Though by the looks of some our lackadaisical halves recently, it doesn't look like the team really cares very much. As far as transfer rumors go, it's fine that Matt Roth wants to come here. I'm more concerned with our current players bolting the way Les has managed to misuse his bench the entire season. Specifically, Singh over Thompson, Eastman too many minutes versus more Milos, etc. Combine that with no one signed and that equals trouble for the future.

We win against Wichita and Ind.St. wins at home against Mo.St. and both teams lose on the road BU should have more points then Ind.St. thus making them a 5 seed.
